Advantages: cheap and I have never found anything not in stock

Disadvantages: you see the item in the catalogue not on a shelf

If you have never been to screwfix it is definately worth a visit.

If you imagine a do it yourself shop equivalent to Argos then you know what screwfix is like.

Dont expect it to be as large as argos though but the principal is the same.

Firstly either go to the shop or go to their site which is screwfix.com and get yourself one of their catalogues. These are are good size with 675 pages.

So what do they stock?

Screws, bolts, nails, packs, fixings, driver bits, drill bits, blades, abrasives, paint, sealants, ironmongery, security, lighting, electrical, heat and vent, plumbing, kitchens, flooring, conservatories, building, access equiptment, safety, workwear, cleaning, automotive, hand tools and of course not forgetting the power tools. In fact they have 10,000 plus stock lines so if you cannot get what you want here I would be very surprised.

On entering the shop as I said it looks similar to argos. You write out your order and hand it in and pay for it. Then you go to the next desk to collect it. It is as simple as that.

If you have not got a screwfix by you you can go on their site and order things and get next day delivery.

I must admit that whenever we need anything to buy in this line we go to this place or wickes.

Screwfix is very cheap compared to any other place.

A lot of shops if you want something you have to buy a couple or more than you want. Here you can pay for just the one which is great and makes things a lot cheaper.

They have a card in their shop where you give a mates name and address and if he goes in and spends £50 then you get a £10 screwfix direct voucher.

The staff are very helpful and do know what they are talking about and knowledgeable.

All their stock is good quality and a lot more expensive elsewhere. I have yet to go in there and they say they have not got the item I want

I would definately recommend you go to screwfix and get their catalogue and see what they sell and how cheap it is.
