Selfridges Foodhall

Newest Review: ... Charlie and the Chocolate factory (and to be honest they go at the same speed!). And the smells are divine, you can't help but feel hungry as soon as you walk in. Eateries: There are several café type counter bars within the foodhall. There is a Yo! Sushi Japanese conveyor-belt sushi bar, with an array of mini dishes circulating the high stools surrounding the belt. There is Deluxe Traiteur who sells home made terrines and lobster, Krispy Kreme donut and coffee bar, the International Counter, which offers my favourite Desperados lager along with Salt Beef, Scottish Sirloin and Rotisserie delights including belly pork, ribs, duck. Premium Review Selfridges Foodhall: Perfect for a little something special (705 words)

I have never been to a more astonishing place, situated on the lower floor of Selfridges in Manchester, the Foodhall is like heaven on earth to me. I am a complete food-aholic, I just love all things food like; if I am abroad or in a local market place I will wander around all the deli counters, cake stalls, I love little cheese shops (my favourite cheese-stinking bishop), and I have an appetite for the unusual, I will try anything. For Christmas my friends and family buy me things like the world's hottest chillis, or dried red ants coated in peanut butter. The first thing I will let you know is if you go, prepare to be tempted and pursuaded to part with some serious ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Amazing (305 words)

Having never been to Selfridges I was absolutly amazed on my recent trip to the Trafford Centre at just how great it is. I can definately class it as my favourite shop. The best part of Selfridges was the food hall. I was expecting something along the lines of the M&S foodhall - a bit of a posh supermarket selling just about the same things as ASDA but boy was I wrong!! The first section I visited was where all the sweets and choclates were - big mistake - that was my diet ruined!! With a Jelly Belly Bean factory, continental choclates and American Cupcakes ( like the ones you see in the movies ) I was speechless. The next department ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Selfridges Foodhall: Selfridge's foodhall - My idea of heaven (447 words)

Having just ate the most amazing Chocolate Brownie I have ever had in my life from Selfridge's foodhall in the Trafford Centre, I feel compelled to write a review! I have only been to the foodhall in the Manchester Selfridge's, so this review concerns that one only. Let's start by saying it is probably one of the best places on earth! Honestly, they have so many weird and wonderful types of food, it is like being a kid in the biggest, best stocked sweet shop in the world. They have different restaurants, you can get sushi at yo sushi or you can get indian food, chinese food, light bites (sandwiches etc) and all sorts of baked goods. They have a ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Be a kid in a candy store again (258 words)

Visiting Selfridge's Foodhall in London is a real treat- It always makes me feel like a kid in a candy store. There is always the peculiar scent of fish when you walk in, but aside from that, it is a feast for the senses. There is a super deli with display cases revealing everything including Turkish, Japanese, fresh pasta, cheese, sushi, traditional English fare (sarnies, quiches), fresh fish on ice, hot pretzels, Chinese and Indian delicacies. Prices vary- you can buy a spring roll for example for about 80p. And of course mix and match various items to create a fabulous smorgasbord. One little secret that I've discovered is that at about 7pm ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Selfridges Foodhall: Hurray! We can eat posh up north! (145 words)

One of the biggest surprises in the birth of the Trafford Centre was the appearance of a grand and fancy Selfridges in the centre of the complex, and while this did expand the region's expensive handbag options by a considerable degree, the new arrival brought with it a far more exciting development - the food section. While smaller than its compatriot in London village, the range of choice crammed into the front section of the second floor is stunning. There are a good selection of sauces and wines, but it's the fresh food that makes it. Delicious indian food, a selection of cheese better than anywhere I've seen outside of specialist shops, and ...  Read the complete review
