Advantages: Gorgeous food, wide selection, luxury food, different, tasty!

Disadvantages: Pricey and there aren't enough selfridges in the country!

Having just ate the most amazing Chocolate Brownie I have ever had in my life from Selfridge's foodhall in the Trafford Centre, I feel compelled to write a review!

I have only been to the foodhall in the Manchester Selfridge's, so this review concerns that one only. Let's start by saying it is probably one of the best places on earth! Honestly, they have so many weird and wonderful types of food, it is like being a kid in the biggest, best stocked sweet shop in the world. They have different restaurants, you can get sushi at yo sushi or you can get indian food, chinese food, light bites (sandwiches etc) and all sorts of baked goods.

They have a section of American foods where you can get cool cereal like Lucky Charms (although beware - it is £7.49 for ONE box!!) and American sweets and biscuits. They have a section where you can make your own bottles up of cocktail mixes or liqueurs which come in huge barrels or bottles. They have some of the most beautiful cakes which I have ever seen, so girly and pretty that they are actually covered in edible glitter! It really is like a dream come true.

You can also buy regular, uncooked meats or deli meats but be warned, the prices are quite astonishing (although i think it would be worth it for a treat). There are juice bars and plenty of places to get a drink, and you can buy as much "coke in glass bottles" as you like. I always grab a couple when I am there because everyone knows coke tastes better from a glass bottle.

I have always found the service in selfridges foodhall to be great, the staff are really helpful and if you ask for any information about the foods they are only too happy to give it to you. I also like that they list the ingredients of the food items on the label so if you have any allergies, you can see straight away whether something is going to be ok for you to eat or not.

I could spend hours, if not days in selfridges foodhall. I just bought 4 different types of cake today and after having the brownie I am hooked and will be going back to stock up! Obviously I wouldn't do my weekly shop here or anything, but for a once a month treat I would certainly recommend going there. It is so different from what you get in the supermarkets where everything is the same - it also tastes a lot better and is clearly better quality.

Summary: I could quite happily live here and never leave - it is heaven

Well plipplop, that is subjective. I personally prefer the foodhall in selfridges in the trafford centre to the one in Harrods but each to their own. I think most would agree that all of the foodhalls mentioned sell food which is over-priced!

Sounds great but way too pricey for my student budget...
