Advantages: cheap prices, good for weekly shop, suprisingly good range of items

Disadvantages: shops can a bit untidy

Semichem is a high street health and beauty retailer that sell a great range of hair care, skin care, fragrances and household items such as bleach and air fresheners.

Although they could be classified as a discount retailer there are a suprisingly large amount of designer brands from the usual names such as nicky clarke shampoo's, armani perfume, air wick air fresheners etc mixed in with cheaper options.

Pay special attention for the weekly offers they run in store as these products are normally alot cheaper than you'll find elsewhere on the high street so if you time it right you could get a tidy saving. Andrex Toilet Rolls and duracell batteries seem popular weekly deals and are worth stocking up on.

There are bad sides to the stores such as they are sometimes a bit untidy or they don't have some of the more premium brands you also get in boots etc, but if you compare some of the prices for perfume like for like with what you'll find in boots you'll be amazed how much you can save.

So i would give semichem 4/5, definately worth a look when shopping around and great for weekly nick-nacks such as toilet rolls and bleach.

Also i've just found they've lauched a website at www.semichem.co.uk that sells most of whats available instore plus some things i can't find in my local semichem.

Summary: well worth a look when doing the weekly shop and when buying perfume
