Well to start with, Aberystwyth is a (smallish) seaside student town of around 12,000 people, and with figures like this you may only expect a few basic chainstores and the odd souvineer shop. However, during university term time, I think the population is rounded up to almost 20,000, and on the basis of it's size, there is really much more you could ask for. Aberystwyth has three 'retail parks', each having several large stores. The Ystwyth park, in the town centre consists of a large Matalan store, Pets at Home, Brantano, Peacocks and Somerfield.
