I was born and bought up near Brighton and I've always found it brilliant for shopping. When I was very young I used to get a lot out of a trip to Churchill Square (the main shopping centre and area of the town) and then as I got older, I spent more time in the lanes. I live about 200 miles away from brighton now and it has made me even more appreciative of how brilliant it is as nowhere I have ever lived even comes close when it comes to shopping. When I come back to visit family and friends I always stop by to have a lot around the shops.

I'd say the Brighton is fairly average when it comes to shopping in the main centre. It's a good size and has all the popular shops but what makes Brighton so special is the lanes. There are two lanes, north and south. The South lanes are home to the more upmarket expensive shops and the north lanes are full of quirky, arty shops, second hand shops, hand made jewellery and accessories and funky gifts.

I love the north lanes. You can get fantastic clothes and accessories there that just aren't sold anywhere else, the shops are just so unique. There are also endless cafes with seating outside and funky bars. The North lanes are also fantistic for buying presents. You can pick up some really quirky gifts down there.

There is just something about Brighton that I have never found anywhere else. I just love it.
