Shopping Areas in Cardiff

Description: City streets, markets, shopping malls, large retail parks...

Newest Review: ... all the shops you'd expect from Topshop, WHSmith and Primark to New Look, River Island, Superdrug, Lush, Accessorise, Boots etc etc The centre of Cardiff is somewhere I always feel quite safe as long as you stick to the major streets and practise common sense. Aside from the familiar highstreet retailers, there are also a few Arcardes which have some unique shops, like Wally's Delicatessen ... more

I was born and raised in Cardiff, and whilst I'm probably no where near as hot on shopping venues as some other users, here are some of the basics. I'll start with the CBD, Cardiff City Centre. Quite a large city centre really, the main streets being Queen Street and St Mary's Street, the centre is well served by Central Bus Station and two train stations: Queen Street and Cardiff Central. The city centre has all the shops you'd expect from Topshop, WHSmith and Primark to New Look, River Island, Superdrug, Lush, Accessorise, Boots etc etc The centre of Cardiff is somewhere I always feel quite safe as long as you stick to the major streets and ...  Read the complete review

This is a review about my personal shopping experience in Cardiff, there are 2 main shopping streets with little places in between the town centre; there's Queenstreet, which is a car-free zone and High/St. Mary Street, there used to be cars and busses allowed in this area but in the last 2 years, cars have been banned and only busses and taxi's are allowed. High/St. Mary Street have had their pavements widened and there are now loads of benches and trees where people can sit by. It's quite a strange sight as there used to be car lanes where the benches are now. So, shopping in Cardiff for me has always been a pleasant experience, they have loads of shops and ...  Read the complete review

This may shock some of you so prepare yourself, but Cardiff has actually been voted in the top five shopping cities in the UK. In fact it’s been in that list for a good few years now. Amazing to those people who’ve never visited this glorious city before and who still think Cardiff and Wales are light years behind London. Allow me, if you will, to take your hand and guide you through the streets of Cardiff, I’ll show you something that will make you change your mind. So, you’ve peeled off the chewing gum from your trouser leg and sprayed perfume to get rid of the slightly musty smell left behind by the strange man who sat next to you, ...  Read the complete review

I went to Cardiff for the first time last wednesday (22/08/01) and was pleasantly surprised. I wasn't quite expecting it to be so big and have loads of great shops. I live in Gloucestershire and travel to Merryhill, Birmingham or Cribbs Causeway, Bristol to shop in different shops which aren't near me e.g. Miss selfidges, H&M, Accessorize, Pilot etc. However Cardiff has all my favourite shops including the ones which are in most towns (Topshop, New Look, Etam) So any shopaholics looking for a day out should go to Cardiff - its worth it! ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Shopping Areas in Cardiff: So much choice (210 words)

Cardiff is without the doubt the best shopping city in Wales. It has so many shops and they spread over a wide area. The main shopping street in Cardiff is Queen Street which is a long street with lots of shops either side. You will find most high street shops in this area. The centre of Cardiff also has several arcade areas where it is possible to do your shopping if you are sheltering from the rain. The good thing that I like about the centre of Cardiff is that there is plenty of choice as it is a large chopping area but the shops are also near enough together that it is possible to shop around for the best prices. The parking around the centre is quite good as well. ...  Read the complete review
