I think that Glasgow is the best place for shopping outside of London! In fact I like it better than London because you get all of the great shops without the massive crowds, tourists and confusion.

Amongst all the regular high street shops in the centre of town you will find some of the other famous names usually only found in big cities such as Urban Outfitters and American Apparel.

However, if you can't be bothered with town, why not try the West End, where you will find a host of boutique shops selling everything from books and CD's to clothes and make-up. These shops are often hidden, so if you have difficulty finding anywhere, just ask and they will point you in the right direction.

For those on a budget, there is a mile long strip of charity shops along Dumbarton road (also in the west end). I picked up a fabulous jumper there last week for £3!
