Ipswich is a middle of the road type place to shop - its ok, better than some other local places such as Bury St Edmunds and Colchester but not as good as Norwich or London. I feel it has really been going downhill over the last few years, there seems to be a lot of shops closing down and many are replaced with useless "gadget" shops or are used seasonally such as at Christmas. If you are driving into Ipswich, the cheapest car park is the Pay and Display at Portman road, which will set you back £1.60 for two hours. The main Crown Street Multi storey is closer to the town centre but its more expensive: £1.20 for one hour, £2.30 for two ...  Read the complete review

Ipswich is an interesting place to shop, as you enter town from the A12 there is a Tesco Superstore with a Pizza Hut, Burger King, Toys R'Us, Curries and PC World, when entering from the A14 there is Asda, Argos and Homebase, with plenty of furniture stores, all are decent shops and provide some services and most are on the outskirts due to their size. There are also Sainsburys superstores on the outskirts of Ipswich towards Felixstowe and Martlesham Heath. Shopping in the town centre has changed somewhat recently, obviously the institution that was Woolworths has closed and next to it JJB also appears to have gone the same way, these two shops are ...  Read the complete review
