Luton is the biggest town in Bedfordshire but unfortunately does not have the best shopping in the county. The biggest shopping area in the town is undoubtedly The Arndale Centre. When built this was the largest shopping Mall in Europe but this is no longer the case and the mall has fallen a great deal from the dizzy heights of when it was first built! Although you can find the normal high street brands such as Debenhams, Tesco, River Island and Next the shopping centre does not offer anything out of the ordinary. As I?m travelling in from Hertfordshire, the first shopping area that I come across in Luton is a small retail park very close to the airport. Like similar retail parks around the Country, this one has stores that sell electrical equipment, toys, sofas and curtains. I have to admit that I?ve only had occasion to use it once, and even then the electrical shop didn?t have what I was looking for! No, I have to admit that I certainly wouldn?t come to Luton purely to shop at this retail park! The Arndale Centre is a large indoor shopping centre located in the centre of Luton. The Arndale covers a large area of square footage and is generally based on the single level with most shops you would expect from a modern shopping centre. ~Where is it? As previously mentioned, central Luton. Only a few minutes walk from both the Bus and Train Station. For those driving, the car park holds well over 2000.
