Shopping Areas in PlymouthNewest Review: ... pricey ones like Cult, but there is also a nice Primark in there for your cheap clothes. The top floor of the mall is all expensive coffee houses. In terms of non food, there's a Zavvi (but not for long I guess), and a Mothercare. My opinion of the mall is that it's not as good as people think. The only shop I am likely to go in is Primark, but I rarely do as half of the city are already in ... more |

The main shopping area in Plymouth is the City Centre, which is made up of three big streets filled with shops. Recently, the new shopping mall has been built at the top of the town, and therefore many shops have relocated in there, leaving an array of empty buildings throughout what was, only a couple of years ago, the main focus of shopper's attention. In terms of the mall, it is mainly filled with clothes shops. These tend to be pricey ones like Cult, but there is also a nice Primark in there for your cheap clothes. Drake Circus Shopping mall is the most boring waste of space in Plymouth. What few shops it has are those you will find in every city in the UK. It is really expensive to park there and the shops over-price everything. I have been there twice and both times i saw some yobs fighting inside the mall. It is also a well known hang out for drug dealers so it is definately NOT a family shopping area. A truly horrible place where all you want to do is get out as soon as you step in. The only reason it seems popular is because it is the main and only walkway from the university into the rest of the city centre. There is no security in the car-park and on my second visit i ... If you want to shop in Plymouth then there are few ways that you can go about doing it. I've lived in Plymouth for 27 years and in my eyes there are three places that will probably get you everything you need. The City Centre. This is the main place where people go to shop. The new mall has recently opened and it has an array of clothes shops, shoe shops and other outlets like Hotel Chocolat and Waterstones. You can buy just about anything and everything in the City centre and all the shops are close together which is very convienient. At the bottom of the town is a big Market place which is rather cheap and cheerful and if you come to Plymouth at the ... Read the complete review

Drake Circus is by far Plymouth's most popular shopping destination. It's right in the centre of Plymouth and is easily accessed by car and public transport. Car Park: There are 1,270 parking spaces available including special 'parent and baby' areas and spaces for people with special mobility needs, these spaces are situated on levels 1,2 and 3. Drake Circus is a "Pay on Foot" car park. You simply take your ticket when you arrive and keep it with you while you shop. Before you return to your car, you can pay by cash or card at one of the paystations located on each of the car park levels. You then just drive to the exit barriers, place ... The Drake Circus Shopping Mall opened in the heart of Plymouth in October 2006 following months of the city centre looking and feeling like a massive building and construction site (which it was!). It replaced a crumbling old shopping complex which was totally razed to the ground to make way for the new one. There has been much local discussion about the outer architectural appearance of the Mall but I won’t go into that here, suffice to say that everyone has their own opinion and it always makes for a good debate. The Location/How to get there etc. Situated in the heart of Plymouth City Centre. Buses- served well by all local services and ... Read the complete review
