The arcades are full of really interesting little shops, including a french cheese and delicatessen style shop, a fancy dress shop, an excellent bead shop, a healthfood shop, an eco gift shop, wally's delicatessen - which stocks foods from across the world, and lots of antique and book shops. The new st davids centre has all your main shops including john lewis. The market off st mary street is great for all your fruit, veg, meat and fish. I really enjoy cardiff shopping. There is a huge range of different kinds of shops, from the little independant shops in the market, to the new St davids complex that has just been finished. The arcades are full of really interesting little shops, including a french cheese and delicatessen style shop, a fancy dress shop, an excellent bead shop, a healthfood shop, an eco gift shop, wally's delicatessen - which stocks foods from across the world, and lots of antique and book shops. Premium Review Not too impressed! (187 words)

I was not overly impressed with the shopping areas in Cardiff. I visited there a few weeks back and found it hard to navigate as it is quite spread out, there doesnt seem to be a distinct shopping area as the shops are interspersed with pub after pub and the area is also undergoing a regeneration whereby there are lots of good shops due, ie H&M, Peacocks, Topshop however they have not been completed yet or opened. This meant that the main shops to see were House of Fraser and some alley ways which were full of boutique and other expensive stores. Maybe as a visitor I was not looking in the right areas and there were other shopping areas that I m issed or ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Shopping in Cardiff in general: A great shoping experience (324 words)

I've lived in Cardiff for 8 years now so I have done a fair amount of shopping here! Cardiff's main area for shopping is situated in Queen Street, a paved street (so no traffic) with all the big main names like Next, HMV, Topshop, Boots etc. All the shops you would expect from a city. There are also two shopping centres on Queen Street. The largest one is the St. David's Centre and it is host to more of the main name shops and also some smaller ones that you might not find in smaller towns but that are still popular such as Ravel, the Works, and the Bear Factory. The other shopping centre is the Capital Centre which is a lot smaller and holds some ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review retail therapy (334 words)

My shopping experiences in Cardiff have been very good; they have a main city centre with loads of shops and arcades but there are also the areas outside the town centre like city road and Cardiff Bay. They're also currently building a massive new shopping centre in the city centre, which will open in mid 2009 and is going to add to the already many shops to choose from. One main street in Cardiff city centre is completely car free and this is Queenstreet, then there's High/ St. Mary Street where there used to be quite a bit of traffic but they've altered this now and only taxi's and busses are allowed on these streets. They've also made the road ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Shopping in Cardiff in general: Shoppers heaven! (183 words)

I lived in Cardiff for 22 years and I have to say that it has one of the best shopping centres in the whole of Britain. Queens Street is the main shopping street and virtually every company has a shop situation on or close to this street. There are lots of shopping arcades in the centre as well so that you can find little traditional shops if that is what you like. I would recommmend Queens Street for clothes and music shopping. There are big Virgin and HMV shops which stock lots of CDs, Videos and other things. Cardiff has also got a few out of town shopping areas. These include Culverhouse cross and Newport Road. You can find your usual electrical and ...  Read the complete review
