I thought I had found an amazing site. signed up for an online account ticked no to credit as i dont use it and set off choosing my items. i placed an order for 2 items a suit jacket and a suit trousers pack of two, paid next day deliver checked out paying for the items on my debit card. The items were delivered 2 days later and instead on a suit jacket i had been sent a hooded fleece top. I called to arrange collection of wrong item straight away and arrange exchange for correct one. Told they have refunded the delivery charge and will despatch correct item. no sooner had i put the phone down did i receive an email thanking me for my telephone order and my credit account had been charged for a suit jacket. i called them back straight away and was told it was their policy to refund the incorrect item when they received it back and to charge me on my credit account for the new one. i was so angry i pointed out a few things: a. i did not apply for a credit account or authorise for a credit account to be set up in my name. b. i didnt agree to the "sale" they put through of the second jacket and i believed by them doing this without telling me was immoral and illegal. c. i shouldnt have to pay a second time for an item i had already paid for on my debit card which they delivered incorrectly. i was told by the customer service agent for all he knows i could be trying to steal a jacket and that i could be a thief. thats the reason they charge for any items prior to sending out as exchange. when i pointed out to him i had already paid for the jacket and i took offence to been called a thief he said "make a complaint". i did and was called by another agent 2 days later. she didnt have an understanding of what had occured, wasnt aware of the issues and clearly didnt care one bit. i asked her to refund the returned item on my debit card, cancel any account with them. she offered me a voucher and asked me to stay with them, as you can guess i didnt want a voucher i just wanted my refund for the suit jacket that i never recieved. anyway its 7 days later now they have closed my online account but still not refunded my money, every time i speak to them they are more and more patronising. i have taken a complaint up with the ombudsmen and my debit card company are investigating them. i would suggest if you want first class service and a simple easy transaction then go anywhere but SimplyBe. they couldnt be simple, they couldnt be bothered and they couldnt be less professional if they tried.
Simply Be a UK company really took on more than they can chew when they tried to get a foot in the USA door. To compete they offered free or low cost shipping but what they omit to mention is that apparently goods are shipped by boat with an average of six weeks for delivery. I myself have given up!!! I have not received my orders from october 2010. If you call you are told a medley of far fetched stories which range from items stuck with customs to the standard 'the computers are down' and you should call the next day. however call back in five minutes and discover the computers are running perfectly to TAKE your new order! If you can wait and are not concerned by getting that swimming suit for winter wear and your whole wardrobe is seasonally out of sync this is the company to buy from. However if you really wanted that winter coat to ward off the cold weather you will happily receive it in time summer vacationing by the beach. Additionally its frustrating to think that should one ever receive their order it is likely that after the holiday season one might need a size up!!!! Then comes the serious question should I return or should I keep and what is the liklihood that the required size will be in stock anymore!
Simply AWFUL -Really awfull, no help when you contact them about things, when i ordered it said in stock and then after i reiceved email stating was out of stock! and had email on 6th May at 8.05 am stating delivery was dispatched..... currently on 10th May and still no sign of it....... VERY UNHAPPY - DONT WASTE TIME AND MONEY!!!!!!
Simply Be is a catalogue that sells clothes for women sized 14 to 32. They do also sell clothing for men, children and household items at the back of their catalogues. Simply been have been around for quite a number of years now and I have been customer with them since the very beginning. I have had good and bad experiences with them, but I always go back because I like their clothing. You can buy from Simply Be by phone, post or online. As a customer I regularly get sent their newest catalogues and tend to order either by phone or over the internet. I feel very sorry for our postman because they do send a lot of catalogues and sometimes send the same one about three or four times, which is a bit of a pain and a real waste of paper. They do some very good offers and often have a promotional discount code for around 20% off all purchases. I tend to wait for these to come along if I want to order something. They are not the cheapest, I would say that considering they are catering for a specialist market, they're prices are reasonable. The delivery charge for them is £2.99. This is for standard delivery .If you want next day delivery this costs £6.98. The delivery charge is per order, not per item and returns are free. I like this because I order a lot at once and really feel that £2.99 is very cheap. This is for clothing etc, large household items do have an extra charge depending on the size. Standard delivery times can vary a lot with this company. Sometimes I have placed an order and received it within about 2 or 3 days. Other times it has taken weeks to arrive. It really seems to depend on if an item is stock or not and which depot it is coming from. A few months before Christmas I had a lot problems with deliveries. Simply Be use Hermes to deliver their items and they offer a terrible service. They used to Home delivery network which was very good and reliable, Hermes are rude and unprofessional, buts that's a whole other review in itself! I have had the odd problem with wrong items or sizes but Simply Be have always put it right and been helpful. When you first start shopping with them, you need to set up a customer account. You will start with quite a low credit limit (between £150 and £300 depending on your circumstances) but then they seem to raise it quite high, quite quickly as long as you pay on time. You are sent a monthly statement and asked to pay a percentage of the bill each month. You can pay post, phone, at the bank or online at their website. Simply Be do have a high rate of interest at 39.9% APR, but if you pay it up each month it's not a problem. I haven't ordered from them for a while (so don't know if they still offer it) but they used to offer payment holidays. Now obviously they benefit from this because they still charge you interest, but if your having a bad month, it could offer a bit of help short term. Their minimum payments are £5 or 5% of the balance, which is pretty standard. You can actually pay using a credit or debit card at the checkout but still seem to need to open the account to shop with them. Probably so that they can send you all their catalogues. I like Simply Be because they offer a good range of plus size clothing. Some of the clothes aren't a great fit, but that probably depends on the person buying them. They offer a lot of choice and sell casual, smart, evening, nightclothes, underwear, sportswear, swimwear, footwear, accessories and lingerie. There are very few places that offer this, which is why they probably do so well. I am a fan of Simply Be and would recommend them to anyone looking for plus sized fashion and clothing. Although they are not perfect, the service they offer definitely covers a gap in the market for plus sized women.
What can I say... First of all I ordered a pair of really nice adidas trainers in november 2009 and I was told delivery would take approx 9 days not a problem. I then contacted them coz i had not received them and I was told they prob wont be delivered before x-mas. It then got to new year and I contacted them again when they said they had no idea when I would get them. I ordered a Nintendo Wii on the 10/02/10 and I was told it would be delivered by the 18/02/10... great cant wait! it got to the 25/02/10 and had not got it so emailed, they replied and sais i would get it for 04/03/10 ok i can wait... on the 4th I had not got it i emailed again and they said i will get it on 04/04/10 2 months after ordering!!! still waiting!
Simply Be is wonderful for a larger lady like myself, I'm finding it increasingly difficult to find flattering, yet young and fashionable clothing and shopping can be a bit of a stressful experience. Simply Be is the answer to my prayers, with the option of having an account so when you need an outfit for an occasion but can't afford it until the end of the month, you can get it when you need it and pay the cost later. Being an account holder has many advantages, with frequent discounts such as 20% off, I've had this at least twice in the past three months and really does make a difference! The cost of posting and packaging is quite reasonable, but next day delivery is around £6 which I think is pretty steep. Another advantage of having an account is being able to use it on its sister sites Simply Yours, Velvet Affair and Jacamo for men, you can shop on all of the sites and have your items in one basket so there's no confusion or frustrating flicking between websites. The clothes from Simply Be are always of very good quality with a range of designers such as Mica Paris, Joe Browns, Anna Scholz and Gok Wan but to name a few, there is no shortage of stylish items for you to get your hands on. The sizes range from 14-32 and all sizes are the same price. I find it very difficult to buy jeans as I'm quite short, but the range of leg lengths is broad and suits any height. Dresses are also something I struggle to find on the high street but Simply Be has many beautiful flattering designs to suit any age and shape. The prices of clothing are more than you would pay on the high street generally, but I have not received one product I haven't been pleased with. Towards the end of the season you can pick up some real bargains with the majority of items having 50-75% off! You can also purchase electrical items, household items and computer games, etcetera, but these tend to be a fair bit higher priced than the high street. The range of underwear is brilliant with sizes 30-52 and cup sizes A-J there's genuinely something for everyone with bargain everyday underwear to the more expensive but beautiful quality lingerie. The website is a little confusing at first, with pages displaying 10 items in a scroll box, but once you have the hang of how to use it you can overcome this. Overall Simply Be is amazing, I love it and would recommend it to everybody.
Simply Be offer a fantastic range of plus size clothes. Often unique to Simply Be, on offer are t-shirts, trousers, jeans, skirts, blouses, underwear, shape wear, jackets, jumpers, shoes and much more! Sizes range from 14 to 32 and with all kind of styles and fashions; it's not hard for the bigger women to keep up with what's going on on the catwalk. The clothes are often shaped for a perfect fit, and you can buy shoes and boots with a wider ankle fit for comfort and support. The prices are reasonable, pretty much what you would expect to pay on the high street, although they often run half price sales on selected lines. Simply Be is also home to a lot of fashion designers, making it a much more attractive place to shop. Gok Wan has just brought out his shape wear and underwear range, and there's other famous designers too! You can choose to pay by debit or credit card, or open a credit account at just 29.9% APR. The minimum payments are extremely reasonable. The returns policy for Simply Be is fantastic it is quickly credited back to your account. P&P is normally around the £2.99 mark, which I find very reasonable as it's often hand delivered, not sent by royal mail. They also offer a wide range of gifts - men's, women's and children's, up to date electronics and games consoles, sports wear and toys, all available on your credit account, making Christmas a little easier to cater for. Overall, Simply Be are a fantastic to company to shop for. They take the hassle away from high street shopping and make everything easy and simple. A 5 star company.
I've bought quite a few outfits from Simply Be and am generally pleased with them. I think I first used them as I was looking for a plus size clothes shop where I could get jeans / trousers from. I've found found those to be the hardest things to buy over the years. I like the wide range of clothes, everything from party to work, casual, smart, beach wear as well as shoes, boots, underwear and sleepwear. It comes in a wide range of sizes and colours and there is a good choice of styles so you can find trendy fashionable pieces as well as more classic styles. I tend to order quite a few things and then send back what I don't like. This is because as there are a lot of labels on sale their sizing does vary somewhat. However I've always managed to find something. I've bought several pairs of jeans and trousers and have also bought a really original tunic top with embroidery. It is possible to find pieces in the catalogue which are different to that available on the general high street. I often get sent discount codes which is great as I think a lot of the stock is expensive but I do like the sales and find them to be excellent value. Delivery is a standard £2.99 (although speedier, more expensive options are available) however I've never had an issue with delivery and have always found it arrived in good time. The downsides are that you get a lot of mail in the post, Simply Be are part of a larger catalogue company - J D Williams and you receive a lot of post from them. They also sign you up as a credit customer so you don't pay for your items til you recieve a bill and I would far rather pay at point of purchase as I often forget to pay the bill and have had to pay a late charge in the past for my forgetfulness! Overall I think they are a good retailer with a wide choice of clothes in plus sizes which covers an gap in the high street.
Simply Be is a catalogue site and is part of the JD Williams group. It is very simple to use, and easy to set up an account, and is a good credit builder, as it will accept customers with an impaired credit file, giving them around £125 credit limit instantly to spend (note this can be reduced or increased at a later date). The catalogue site is largely aimed at plus size women, although most of the ranges go from around a size 8 - 30. They also stock a range of footwear, included wide calf fitting boots, wide fitting shoes, up to large sizes. It offers something to fit everyone, and for the fashion conscious there are some designer brands or boutique items on there, including Joe Browns, Rocket Dog, Loyalty and Faith, Nike. There are also accessories, homewares, gifts, lingerie, sports and swimwear. Once you have registered, you are likely to be bombarded with emails offering you 10% or even 20% off orders, these are great (if not a little annoying), because, as with most catalogues the items for sale are slightly more expensive than if you were to buy them outright from a high street store. As an example, I recently bought Gavin and Stacey series 1+2 which cost me £22, you can buy it from Send It for £12.49 - if you have the benefit of good credit or the cash ready to pay for your purchase then shop around, but if this is your only option try to wait for email discounts. Returns are freepost, but you need to get a proof of postage just for your own protection, and once returned can take a couple of weeks to show up on your account. You can return for up to 28 days. There is a next day delivery service, which is £6.99 or standard delivery (couple of days) which is £2.99. Some items are sent direct from the manufacturer, but it will advise you of this before you order them, and these can take 7 - 10 days to get to you. The online order tracker and account management system for making payments etc is invaluable, and means (unless you don't look at it) that you will always be in control of your spending and due payments. You normally receive your first statement within 6 weeks of your first order, the customer services email system is really good too, they get back to you within around 48 hours at most and are very helpful. There are online sizing guides and videos for measuring. Finally your basket interlinks with the other JD William Group sites, such as Ambrose Wilson, Fashion World, etc so you can shop about with plenty of choice.
simply great simply be. i have been a customer for more than 4 yrs i would like to say i am very happy with there service usualy very quick only a couple of times i have a the odd wobble but tell me is any company 100% dont think so. there customer services have always sorted things out for me straight away if i have needed them and the courier karen is great she is there with my items and ready to pick up as soon as i request it its like having my own personel shop on my door step as i am disabled this is an easy way to shop and means i can try things on in my own time instead of been squished into a tiny changing room and you have loads of time to make your mind up other catalogues only give you 14 days i can say if i had any probs i would not of stayed with simply be but there great keep up the good work and theres some nice stuff in the autumn 09 catalogue
Simply be catalogue Application process The simply be catalogue process is so easy. I applied online for my catalogue account and just had to fill out a two minute application form and was given an instant decision of being accepted. I got sent a credit agreement to sign within a week but getting this back to them doesn't stop you placing your first order with them which you can do straight away. Incentives When you make your first order you get a code which entitles you to a 10% discount. Ordering There are three ways to order either online in which you log into your account using your account number and password add items to your basket and then checkout you are then sent an email as conformation of your order. Or you can order by telephone by speaking to an adviser. Also you can send your order in using the pages at the back of your catalogue. Delivery. Delivery times vary and you are not given a set day for when the delivery is due when you place the order so that is quite annoying. Most items if they are in stock t the time of the order arrive within a week. There is a £2.95 delivery charge for each order placed which is a bit of a pain. Interest rates Simply be do charge interest onto your account with each statement which is every 28 days unless you clear the balance in full then you do not pay any interest. Returns All returns can be collected from you at home within a week. Or you can return them to the post office whichever is easier. Credit limit My credit started at£125 and if you call them and ask for an increase they tend to be quite good as long as you are making repayments on time. Overall Simply be has a massive range of clothes shoes and accessories for the plus size women and the great thing is that you can use the same account to shop with all of their partner sites including jd Williams home essentials and viva la diva so there really is huge choice. My overall rating 9/10
Simply Be Simply be is a range of women's plus size clothing and accessories available by mail order or on-line. Simply Be caters for women sized 14-32. Their range caters for casual and formal wear and has everything from hoodies to wedding outfits. In addition they sell swimwear, underwear and shoes. My experience of Simply Be has been o.k. I have used it a few times over the last few years but I am not a regular shopper. I find a lot of the tops sold by Simply Be are simply not flattering to the larger women, I find a lot of them too baggy and somewhat shapeless. I have also found a lot of their dress tops to be quite dated and out of fashion (maybe a few seasons ago). I have ordered jeans and trousers and found them to be nice and well fitting. I do however think that the price does not reflect the quality. I appreciate that more material is required to make larger sizes but still feel some of the items are overpriced. It is possible to pay up to £30 for a jersey style top that is not made with great quality material and does not always wash well. The shoe and accessorie collection are very nice and of quite a high quality. My only problem with the shoes is they are all available in wide fitting size. This is great if you have wide feet but I do not. I find the shoes to be of good quality and well prices but the bags and accessories again slightly overprices. Average handbag is £25 and not overly great quality. The swimwear and underwear range are my favourite. There are pretty bikinis, swimsuits and underwear sets available in larger cup sizes, which is great. The level of customer service I have received has been fine. Any telephone calls I have made have been answered promptly and I have always found the people to be helpful. If ordering on line or by telephone your delivery is usually delivered to the required address within 24 hours, I have never had a problem with this. If items are unsuitable they can be returned by free post at the post office or you can call a courier to come and collect. Again I have had no problems with return. Overall- Simply be is good for larger sizes and convenient to use however the product lack shape and style and are a bit overprice.
i ordered 2 pairs of trousers on 27th march 2007....it is now 14th july, stil no trousers and a bill for two pairs, i am at my wits end. i was told courier company could not find my address, and they had left cards( where i ask) because i had not had any.....anyway...the phone person refused to put me through to a manager, even though i had had an e mail with customer services managers name,...i was on hold for 20 minutes...i am beginning to think this company is billing for not supplying goods...and i am finding it impossible to get hold of anyone who speaks english....am calling bbc radio tommorrow see if they can help
As a mother of two children under three and a woman trying to lose weight I decided to buy myself a birthday treat and what better than Clothes. I had seen the advert for Simply Be on the TV and made a note of their website address. The website is easy to use and even has a favourites list so you can window shop and then return to it at a later date which I do quite often. I placed an order on their website, which included a couple of skirts and dresses and even a swimsuit, and I have received the things I ordered in the right sizes and colours. I am size 20/22 which in this catalogue is very annoying because its at size 20 that the price increases. Having been used to big book catalogues I was a bit dissapointed by the size of the catalogue, but I was pleased to find that the catalogue did have some really nice clothes including Footwear, Swim suits and Lingerie as well as skirts, dresses, trousers, Jeans and Suits. I was really impressed with the courier delivery service as it came within the 2/3 days they specified! Since this first order, I have ordered a lots more things over the telephone and on the website and they have all been delivered within the time specified, some stating that they would be a couple of weeks late but arrived in plenty of time. So I would recommend this catalogue and especially the website to anyone, but having read another opinion before doing this, its not always the case that everyone has good service, which is a shame because I did.
This is a catalogue that caters for women who are size 16 to size 30. Being a size 16-18 myself I thought that I might as well give it a try. I was impressed with last season's catalogue when it arrived, there was a reasonable choice of clothes ranging from casual wear to evening wear and underwear. The prices were affordable with a pair of trousers costing around £20 - £25, however the prices do go up for the larger sizes. They have a 28 day satisfaction guarantee policy and you can spread the cost with a personal account. I tried to order a few items from it but never actually managed to, as they always seemed to be out of stock. When in January I received a mini catalogue I decided that I would attempt to order a jumper and a pair of trousers. I couldn't get through on the phone line so I filled in the form, ticking the box to say I didn't want an alternative sending, and posted it. About a week later my postman delivered a very small parcel. This couldn't possible have a jumper, a pair of trousers, a free gift and a catalogue in it - could it? I ripped the package open expectantly to find a sun top that I hadn't ordered, it was not even similar to the jumper I had ordered, for a start it didn't have any sleeves. Needless to say this got sent back for free the very same day. Three days after this another parcel arrived which I tentatively opened to find my trousers and my free gift, which was a black bag. I was and still am impressed with both of these items, the trousers are good quality, and the bag is similar to one I nearly bought for £20. The next thing to arrive was my statement (still no sign of a catalogue) this informed me that I had been charged twice for the post and packaging. This is usually charged at £2.50 per order regardless of the size of the order. I immediately picked the phone and dialled the query line. It rang and the automated system started I pressed all the relevan t buttons to get through to the right department, and then held, and held and held. In fact I held for 15 minutes before I gave up after all I was paying for this phone call. I tried to query my account on another 7 occasions, each time facing the same problem. I received my next statement last week and on it I had accrued £6.08 worth of charges. These were £5 administration charge and a £1.08 service charge. Looking through the limited amount of paperwork I had I could not find any mention of charges if you failed to pay on time. On the previous statement my minimum payment had been £3.58, I had returned a top worth £15 and been charged £6.08 on the day after the due date. Granted I should have paid the minimum amount, I do not dispute that, what does anger me is that I had not been informed about these charges. I also shop with Kay's and when I didn't pay that on time the next statement warned me that I would be charged if I didn't pay by a certain date. (In my defence I must say the reason for both payments not being made is that my husband was taken into hospital at the end of January and everything got thrown into a draw and forgotten about). Upon receipt of this last statement I once again dialled the query line, on the third attempt I got through after holding for just 10 minutes ? don't forget I'm paying for all of these calls. The girl that I spoke to was abrupt but very helpful. I explained what had happened and how I had tried to contact them on numerous occasions, at this point she became very apologetic and told me that they were drastically understaffed. The girl said that the extra postage and packaging charges would be taken off, as would the administration costs. Apparently I would have been aware of these charges if I had received my catalogue - it is now 10 weeks later and I still don't have one, not that I want one now anyway. After speaking to customer services I attempted to pay my balance over the phone and guess what I couldn't get through. I eventually gave up and went to their website at www.simplybe.co.uk and looked at my account. The £2.50 postage and packaging had been deducted as promised but the charges had not. I paid the outstanding balance (minus the charges) and then pressed the contact us button to question the charges again. A form popped up which I promptly filled in including my name, account number and an outline of the telephone conversation. I submitted it and was told that it had been sent successfully. The next day I got a reply saying that they could not read the e-mail and could I re-send it letting them know my account number and name. I replied immediately expecting an answer that day, they eventually replied to me over 24 hours later, to inform me that the charges had been removed. To conclude I would say that if you are a larger lady there are plenty of fashionable clothes to choose from in this catalogue that is presuming that you can get a catalogue. If you can actually get the item you like then the quality is high and the prices are reasonable as long as they don't charge you twice for delivery. If anything goes wrong or you need to query something then you will need a lot of patience and a lot of money to pay your phone bill. I personally will SIMPLY NOT BE using this company again, if you choose to use them then all I can say is Good Luck you'll need it!!
