Advantages: marks and spencer
Disadvantages: m&s can be pricey
hooray, our somerfield is finally leaving to make room for a new Marks And Spencer, I did not like our store, sometimes when you go in there is smelled, it was hardly never clean and the staffs manners, although some were alright some were horrible, they seemed to have a move around every two weeks, and the tchibo range sometimes spends a month on the shelf, although they are selling things for 50% off, i will go in there and buy xmas food
Summary: i am pleased by this move

- 03/12/06 Not a good review and I feel it must have been based on a one-off visit. I've always found the staff to be helpful and friendly. The only criticism I'd make is that on occasions there were never enough checkouts open but Somerfield certainly aren't alone in this respect. I never found lack of stock to be a problem.
Alton will once again be a loser now that this store has closed. They fulfilled an important role in the town, providing affordable shopping for many of the town's older people. Yes, Sainsburys will absorb this, but i've started to notice the difference in my shopping bill already. Also, once M&S get started I predict that Sainsburys will then become the new Somerfield, so beware.. |

- 02/12/06 I agree with the other comments made about your review and if your happy to go to a dirty smelly shop and be served by rude people just so you can get cheap items for christmas then you quite frankly are a skank. Glad to inform you that the same rude people will be returning to serve you when M&S opens haha So you got a problem then I suggest you raise it with somerfields management who are also going over to M & S as far as I am aware. I enjoyed shopping at somerfields but then I'm not ignorant and pathetic. All the best, have a nice christmas |

- 26/11/06 Just like to say how pleased all of us at Alton's Somerfield were to read your well thought out and literate views on our store and performance. Naturally we are very upset that we failed to live up to your obviously very high standards, and cut to the very bone by the mere suggestion that we, in some small way, made your life that little bit harder.
Please do come in and say hello when we re-open as a Marks and Spencers, when each and every one of us will be only too happy to express our sincerest apologies in our own way.
Thank you once again for bringing our failings to our attention, and in the same vein, can I just take this opportunity to point out that 'it was hardly never clean' would be better worded 'it was hardly ever clean' and that the full stop has a key role to play in the English language.
All the Best!!! |
