Rather go 30 miles to Sainsburys (Somerfields)

Advantages: Absolutely None!!!!!

Disadvantages: Bad service, empty shelves!!!

The closest supermarkets to my home is a Somerfield and Waitrose store, both situated in the town about 3 miles away.

But due to the bad service and constantly empty shelves, that Somerfield provide its customers. I for one make a 60 mile round journey to shop in Sainsburys a far superior foodhall.

Somerfield claim that their 2 for 1 offers are excellent value for money, well I guess it would be if you can ever buy it! Somerfield had the sole trade in my home town for almost a year while the co-op closed and the new Waitrose store was being built.

Unfortunately Somerfield didn't see fit to look after its regular customers, instead they took the stand that "well if you don't like it, go elsewhere!" In many cases people were unable to make the journey, like the elderly or single parents. Therefore they went without certain essential items ie bread and milk.

On occasions when I have to purchase something from the store, I do it under protest. On many occasions I will go to Waitrose, but when only a pint of milk is required the 40p car parking fee, which in effect doubles the price!

Another complaint is if there are 10 checkouts, why do they see fit to only open 2 or 3 if your lucky?
