I have been a customer of Studio Card & Gifts since 1995. I was very happy with their service up until recently -- I hadnt ordered from the catalogue for atleast a year or so, but I got married in June of this year and thought I would write to them so that they could update my surname. Well, to my disbelief and disgust, they sent me a letter back saying that I owed them a total of around £80 that "appeared to have been overlooked" (for over 2 years might I add) and that they had already handed my name over to a debt collector! They had *not* sent me any red-letters saying that I had this overdue amount that needed to be paid, and as far as I knew, I had paid off all that I owed a year ago before I stopped purchasing from the catalogue. Also the letter they sent was addressed with the wrong initial...where it shouldve been K, they had put L...
I phoned the number they included(which was the debt collector) and got quite irate. I told them that I wanted them to send me statements so that I could see what items they were actually charging me for. Well, they sent me some trading statements but these did not show me what items they were actually charging me for - they just showed amounts of money from invoices dating back to the year 2000.
They have slapped on almost £14 in late fees aswell, which is a cheek because I never had any Invoices sent out to me in the first place.

Very unsatisfied, and I will not be using them again.

I realise that this was written a while ago so you may have sorted it - if not, write to them now with an official looking letter asking for damages (undue harrasment, failure to provide proper statements, stress you've suffered as a result, damage to your credit rating). Good on you for warning others. :-) x

Their payment administration is appalling, and the other comments here regarding the downside of their service are spot on I feel. They owe me money because they wouldn't stop charging payment protection which I had told them I didn't want at the outset. And it costs money to ring them!! good for you in putting your experiences with them on dooyoo.
