In September 2000 i spent over £2000 in my local Tempo. I was the salesmans dream customer i took the extended warranty on everything.

I was really happy with my purchases which included a new PC,cooker, washing machine and fridge freezer until Christmas when something went wrong with the computer. The whole thing crashed but we thought ok we will try the recovery disk. Great idea if it had not have been blank. We managed to download the drivers for soundcard etc from the internet however drivers for the modem could not be found luckliy they replaced it and the lovely manager gave us £40 credit in the store. Last month the cooker developed a fault with the front hob plate so i rang tempo and was given a number to contact, a few days later an engineer came out to tell me that the parts needed replacing. This is all covered by the warranty. However the manufacturer went out of business in August one month before i bought my cooker. So now parts are not available. I turned to Tempo customer services thinking they would simply replace my cooker but apparently because it is only 4 months old it is not their problem. It is now in the hands of their insurers and six weeks on i still have a cooker i cant use properly. Each time i try to phone the store or their head office i am sent round in circles contacting different departments and the insurers dont even answer their phone.

My advice to anyone would be not to buy any warranty from this company as it doesnt seem to be worth the paper it is written on and if you do get a problem with one of Tempos products do not expect to receive a prompt solution as they do not seem to know who is responsible when things go wrong.
