tesco and the biggest mistake they made (Tesco)

When it come to shopping at the supermarket Tesco used to be the shop that i used to do the weekly shop in. That was until recently Slough have now had the old store knocked down and we have had a tesco that is twice the size put in its place.

This was when originally planned was thought to be a great idea as you would have twice the variety and saving which is great as they were also bringing in foreign foods and have a lot more variety when it comes to homeware as they have lots of electrical goods and toys.

Tesco is great as with the special offers of savings. buy one get one free and 3 for 2 with the added extra bonus of getting points on you Tesco Clubcard which in turn gives you more money off coupons.

The layout of the new tesco is great you have homeware and electricals, toiletries, the the season aisle (eg christmas, easter) the cleaning products, fridges, freezers, fruit, vegetables, then the deli and bakery, leading onto the sauces, crisps and chocolate, soft drinks then the alcohol section.

The biggest disadvantge of the layout is that they have put the freezer aisle in the middle, where as in my opinion i think it should be at the end.

I no longer shop in Tesco though as with the new large store, it seems to be busier than ever with people coming from further around to shop there, the queues and the people that stop in the middle of the aisles drive me crazy, so i now shop at the smaller sainsburys which is a lot quieter and no where near as fustrating as shopping at Tesco.

The checkout queue is just as bad along with the staff that are highly unhelpful, especially those who are trying to prepare the orders for the people who have shopped online they seem to always be in your way and leave there trolley in the middle of the aisle.

All in all i think Tesco made a big mistake when they extendeded there store as many of my friends who used to shop there have either changed shops or shop at the little tesco garage down the road.
