Cheap is not always cheerful (Tesco)

Disadvantages: Not always the best own brand products

Tesco are the United Kingdoms biggest supermarket, and are estimated to take in around one pound in every eight spent in the United Kingdom. Although they may be the biggest supermarket in the United Kingdom, it does not mean that they are the best, or at least that is my opinion.

The reasons for this is the level of quality of the Tescoown brand food and other products under the Tesco brand; and the way the staff treat customers. The reason for the first, is that when I started economising, I tried all the different supermarkets own brand foodsa and what I found was that alot of the products from the Tesco own brand range was not as good as other supermarkets in the level of quality. So it is not always cheap is cheerful.

The second, of the staff helpfullness, is that while other supermarket staff are help and make it look like they are there to help you, in Tesco, it is almost as if they are going out of their way to help and that it is an inconvience. They could at least appear as if they want to help.

Thirdly I do not like the Club Card scheme, but then I do not like any discount scheme where the company keep on record what you have purchased, how much you spend, what day and time you bought your shoppping, what branch you brough the shopping at, et al. Although this can not just be labelled at Tesco, as a large number of other big stores do the same.

Although I personally dislike shopping at Tesco, even though it is the closest supermarket I prefer traveling a bit further. There are other memeber of my family that do like shopping at tesco. So like anything in life it is mainly down to personal preference.

Summary: Personally I do not like shopping there
