Advantages: easy to find items, wide selections

Disadvantages: bit expensive, can get overcrowded at prime times

My local Tesco is Spytty in Newport. The store itself looks quite small from the outside but looks can be deceiving. There is plenty of car parking space and more is availble in the surrounding retail park.
My main disappointment with Tescos is that my local store used to run 24 hours, and it was throughout the night I would trudge over there, pushing my colicky teething baby who only slept when the sun came up to complete my shopping. I unfortunately did not have this privilage on my second, but I am sure they had a very good reason for closing at 10pm, although I am yet to receive an answer from the headquarters.

The opportunity to earn points in return for vouchers, saving stamps for christmas and money off fuel and along with the many other services Tesco has grown into (insurance, savings etc) make it a convenient, easy affair for pretty much all needs.

During weekdays the shelves are full. Signs are clearly displayed to point a person in the right direction and the store is laid out in a user friendly manner, ie aisles are wide enough for two trolleys to pass each other comfortably, three at a push.

I believe the grocery products are slightly more expensive compared to some other supermarkets, but I make up for that because I don't drive, am in walking distance of the Tescos, can buy everything in one place and they also offer home delivery if I find myself splurging!

Summary: A great place where all shopping needs can be met and a drink can be had afterwards
