The Body Shop was founded in 1976 by Anitia Roddick in Brighton, at the time is was a new experience, natural products, not tested on animals, items sourced from other countries and the bit that made me smile, was that she couldn't afford many bottles for packaging so recycled containers. The empire grew, Anitia Roddick was head of the comapny, was made a Dame, and eventually sold out the company. Unfortunately Anitia Roddick passed away. The company is owned now by Loreal, which personally I find an odd prospect, but have to give Loreal their due they have kept the fundamental principles that Anitia Roddick started the business with. I have been shopping in The Body Shop for years. I use to hate the shopping experience in there because, as a teenager, the security guards used to hover over me and my friends, even though we were just innocently shopping. I used to feel like a criminal. However I'm glad to say that those days are gone and I now enjoy my Body Shop experience much more. The reason I have used The Body Shop for so many years is because I love everything about the products. I haven't been able to find any makeup or beauty products that compare anywhere else on the highstreet, other than designer products that obviously have much higher price tags. The Body Shop is ...  Read the complete review

Their stores seem to be small in size but inside you will notice they do sell a lot of products. On average prices for their creams, moisturizers are expensive starting from about 9.99 most of the them you will hardly find anything that you can consider a bargain here. Recently been here with my friend to see what they offer for men here. I seen a lot of products such as face masks, face wash gels and some creams to. All of them had some very high price tags but it seems like the quality of them is suppose to be good as they look very expensive from ...  Read the complete review

I am not a body shop employee and I have never worked for them, I'm just a happy customer. The Body Shop (TBS) has been the subject of severe criticism since its beginnings in 26 March 1976, from the inspirations for its creation to its "natural product" claims, its level of fair trading to its activism against animal testing and for a positive body image. The good is proclaimed by sceptics to be corporate lies or statistical fiddling, the bad is shouted from the highest rooftops and rammed in the faces of consumers using all available media, and the neutral is spun in a bad light be default. Even after the death of the founder, Anita Roddick, there ...  Read the complete review

The Body Shop is one of the most famous and successful stores around in terms of beauty products. It is particularly famed for producing items that are naturally sourced and are also totally against testing their products on animals. They are also commited to selling products that are ethically produced and promote fair trade in third world countries. There are now around 2500 Body shop stores around the world in over 55 countries. The Body Shop was founded over 30 years ago by Dame Anita Roddick.
