Advantages: loads of stuff, brilliant shop

Disadvantages: none

Being a person who is highly entertained by gadgets and gismos I popped into the local discovery store. I suppose the puppy on display drew me, which jumped up and down, and the singing fish, but once inside I found it an Aladdin’s cave. This has since become one of my favourite stores, especially as they do a range of sex toys as well.

I was looking for a nice birthday present for one of my friends, being rather spoilt and not particularly interested in anything I was stumped as to what to buy her. The gadget store was too far away for me to travel to, even though I like it I don’t get chance to visit very often. Wondering through the narrow isles in the store I was thoroughly impressed by the range of things they had on offer. Enough to tempt even the fussiest of buyers.

The store was very modern inside. The floor was very clean, well what little I could see of it, and the walls clean and crisp, very inviting actually. There wasn’t the usual fussy shop assistants, who pounce down your throat the minute you walk in the shop, and their uniforms were a nice black colour. I always did like a man in a black shirt! I think the shop was a little too cramped, as everything was all over the place and in some areas of the shop it was difficult to move for all the products lying around everywhere.

The product range…

Gadgets – all that you would expect from a shop similar to the gadget shop. From unusual torches and contraptions to bock the sin this shop had it all. There were a few really unusual products that I have never seen anywhere, like swinging dolphins and pendulums.

Candles and such – there was an extensive range of candle holders and candles, all of which were extremely lovely to look at, but quite expensive. I know where to go when I want to buy all things candle like, being a lover of candles I always have a look at this section when I go past. They are always updating t
he product range and I recently saw a nice glass bowl full of floating candles that I want, just need someone to buy it for me.

Cuddly toys – I found the choice of stuffed toys cute actually. There was a big box full at the front of the shop and a whole load of feathery friends dotted all over the place. There are puppets and such as well, so something to please everyone, no matter how big of a kid they are.

Arty products – what impressed me was the range of art type products available, there were some lovely framed pictures and models which looked really nice and I would buy them all if I had the money. As well as the cheaper products there were the more expensive electrical run works of art that should moving pictures and added motion to the normal 2D art.

Toys – not only where there toys for the young at heart, but also a whole range of toys for boys. Besides the gadgets there were things such as remote controlled cars and technical clocks.

Clothing – yes T-shirts are on sale here too, most of them a little crude and for the older person, but still a lot of fun.

Sex range – whilst wondering through the store I was strangely drawn to the back of the shop, when I got there I was highly impressed. Not only did this shop offer a fantastic range of gadgets and all things a girl could want but there was also a load of sex toys! These included toys and other strange gismos such as pasta and chocolate.

There are loads more stuff to choose from so if there is a store near you pop in and have a look, there is so much to chose from I defy anyone to be disappointed by what they have to offer.

What I purchased…

Candlestick and Candle – I bought a black iron gothic candlestick for £20, this was reduced as the shop were having a sale. I must say it as extremely heavy and difficult to wrap (as it was one of the presents for my friend). It was very contempora
ry whilst sticking to the gothic theme, I was taken by it and knew that I had to have it when I set my eyes on the thing. I also got a scented church candle, one of the really thick ones, to go with the candlestick, this cost £5. Quite cheap really and smelt lovely.

Picture frames – I bought 4 individual picture frames that cost £5 each. They were wooden and lined with red fabric inside. Inside this was a 3D model of a Japanese symbol. A lot of wood and time for only £5, I was well impressed by my find. Made a great addition to my bedroom and livened up my wall. They look fantastic and I am going to buy the rest of the range when I pass again.

Puppet – affectionately named ‘Hector’ this is a purple dog like puppet on a string. He cost me only £10 and keeps me company when I am left home alone, the boyfriend isn’t here all the time unfortunately. He’s really sweet looking and lovely, purple, pink and fluffy with whiskers. I’m just a big kid really.

Cube – as it was my sister’s birthday near the time I picked up a cube puzzle that I thought she would like. Costing £5 she has had hours of entertainment out of it and I even found myself stumped at the difficulty of the puzzle.

Bed Snake Bat – now stick with me here I realise that this sounds a little wired but if I say it came for the sex section then that should aid understanding. It was a brilliant novelty gift for my friend, which I had to have; I read the attached instructions and nearly wet myself it was so funny. It is designed especially for the modern woman, to tame the bed snakes (which it explains are the private parts of the male… clicked yet?!) brilliant idea. It came with a convenient handle that slips round the wrist and we had to take it out with us that night. I don’t know how but we did actually get in a nightclub with it, despite it being a weapon. The harassment of the men that n
ight was fantastic! It cost only £10, nothing for all the fun it gave.

Penis Pasta – a bag full of pasta that was shaped like a penis and the accompanying testicles. Very entertaining and when I served it to my boyfriend for his dinner I don’t know if he knew whether to be offended or to laugh. A whole bag full of little willies, perfect for any woman! £8 for a bag full.

Nipple Chocolates – fondant nipple shaped chocolates for my boyfriend, he had fun eating them and laughed when I presented them, great for any bloke. £3 for two big ones.

Black Fluffy Handcuffs – an exquisite pair of handcuffs that are covered in black fur, cost only £10, every girl has to extend her range of toys and since the pink fluffy cuffs were wearing away I decided to invest in a new pair, this time a more masculine black colour. Appealed more to me than pink anyway.

I also looked at a number of things, such as a cool leather whip and a blow up doll for my other half, but I decided I had bought enough on this one trip and I would come back next time I got paid. And this is what I intend to do. Although I have been in looking since buying most of the store I have not yet purchased anything else but I will do soon.

This shop has now made it onto the list of my favorite places to shop, and there are loads of things I want to buy when I have to money. There are many things that I have decided look nice, although I have been told that the T-shirts they sell fall apart after a few washes, even so with the range of logos you can get on the front who cares. This shop goes on better than the gadget shop and kind of combines that with Ann Summer’s - perfect!

I really like this store and rate it highly, I would recommend it to anyone looking for a strange and impractical gift, or something a little unusual. It offers a good range of sex products, including vibrators, so if you don’t have an Ann Summe
r’s near by try the Discovery Sore. My handcuffs have withstood the test of time! There is something for everyone and no matter what the sort of person you will find something for them! Have fun shopping and looking, it makes a great addition to a shopping trip.
