Advantages: perfect pocket money shop for the kids, usefull odds and ends.

Disadvantages: Adult book selection dissapointing

The Works is a discount book and stationary store. I absolutly love the works for my daughter. Its a fantastic pocket money shop as it so cheap, and apart from a wide range of books, they also stock all that stationary kids love ...scented gel pens, charachter merchendise, jigsaws, 'making' toys. its a good store for presents for the parties the kids get invited to from school. I bought a cute puppy rucksack and pencil tin for one of my daughters friends for just £2 for both, and noticed the other day the bag at least was still going strong!
They also have an artists department and stock essentials for crafters. They do a very cheap card making starter kit, in a choice of designs for around £1, and then lots of embellishments and other items suitable for cardmaking and scrap booking.
Finally the greeting card section is ver reasonable too, with a good selection of ready made cards, wrap, gift bags and bows etc.

Summary: The kids will love it.
