TJ Maxx is the parent store of the UK TK Maxx, it is just like it really except its better and cheaper. Usually located on the outskirts of cities in concrete shopping complexes they are not like over here which seem to situate on the high street quite often. For this reason they are much bigger and therefore provide much more variety, however due to the different taste in fashion between the UK and US alot of it is irrelevant, even more so than any TK Maxx over here with some of their, lets be honest, hideous clothing. TJ Maxx usually tends to have a lot more on sale there, with some heavy clearance discounts, for instance I picked up a few ... Read the complete review

TJ Maxx stores, like Targets, Wall-Marts and Home Depots, have spread like a cancer across the American landscape. Yes, they are ugly. Yes, they are located in tacky strip-malls. However, if you can overlook these aesthetic issues they offer prime bargain hunting ground. One does not go to TJ Maxx for the service or plush dressing rooms . The staff leave shoppers to their own devices. As for the dressing rooms, they are small and sterile with cold linoleum floors. One plus is that there always seems to be plenty of them. TJ Maxx is even better than the UK store for finding amazing reductions, and along with Century 21 and Filene's Basement, are the best places in Manhattan to find clothing bargains from those designer names at very low prices. This store is not at all child friendly (be warned!) and I was told by an assistant that I should have had my kids childminded if I wanted to shop there (bit of a problem when you're on holiday!)My kids were well-behaved, but not allowed in ... I had never heard of this store until I read about it in a magazine, the store sells seconds and end of line extras, but if your hunting that bargain then this place is well worth checking out, the store in NYC is pretty big and I found it not to be the best in North America but that said I’m pretty sure it matters when you hit them. The tee-shirts and sweat shirts are fantastic value if you under packed there probably cheaper than (and more fun) than a trip to the laundry. The stores seam to eat up time and it seams like no time before hours have gone by, and I hardly ever leave without a purchase. It makes the public think on how much profit is made from ...
