Advantages: Highly discounted designer gems!

Disadvantages: Requires sifting through mismatched items sorted by size!

TK Maxx is one of those stores you really do have to psych yourself up for, and have the time to properly browse - something a lot of people don't seem to have anymore. A first visit to a branch of TK Maxx can be a little daunting - upon walking in you are literally greeted with rail upon rail of mismatched items grouped by clothing type - 'jeans', 'skirts', 'dresses', 'knitwear' etc. The store specialises in discounted designer wear and the like - often a season or so out of date, but to be honest at the prices they're offering, particularly for items such as jeans which don't in themselves go out of fashion, who's complaining?

It really is a question of luck when you go into TK Maxx - dependent on the day, week, month, the branch... I'm sure that the number of times I've been in and come out empty handed outnumber the times I've been successful, but when I think about the gems I've found when I have been successful, that really doesn't matter! To give you an idea of the sort of bargains on offer, for the fashion conscious, I've recently bought Calvin Klein jeans for £15, Nine West leather heels for £16, a gorgeous cocktail dress for £25, a French Connection handbag for £12, and countless jumpers, cardigans and skirts in names I don't recognise.

Such is the nature of names such as these however that the clothes and goods (they do a great range of homeware (my mum buys a lot of her christmas presents here!), sportswear and the like, alongside clothes, shoes and accessories for men, women and children) are of a brilliant standard, and when the prices rival those of normal high street stores, it's definitely worth a look and is always my first stop when shopping!

Summary: Definitely something to make time for when shopping
