Advantages: Big Brand at Small Prices.
Disadvantages: Seems to be very few of certain items.
TK Maxx has just recently opened a store in my home town - Crewe - and so far I've not been disappointed. I used to have to travel to Stoke on Trent to grab a bargain but now there's a store on my doorstep. I'm an alternative chick so I'm not really into my girly girly clothes, but I do love my skate brands, and more relaxed clothing like jeans, hoodies and t-shirts. It's very rare that I wear a dress apart from when I've been pregnant as it seems to be the only items of clothing that fit me these days.
Anyway, I've been in my local TK Maxx 3 times now since it opened, and each time I've come away with a hand full of bargains. Fair enough I've had to have a good rummage through the clothing rails but I enjoy doing that anyway as it's part of the fun of bargain hunting. My mum disagree's with me saying it's just like a jumble sale, and she hates going through rack after rack of clothing and shoes. She prefers everything to be in it's place and 1 of everything in each size etc. She is used to shopping in your normal clothing stores like Dorothy Perkins and River Island, the only time I'll get her to have a good rummage through clothes is when we go to Primark.
It seems that TK Maxx only get like 1 of each item, especially when it comes to the skate clothing. I was lucky enough to find myself a purple DC Shoes hoodie which was the only one in store, at a bargain price of £30 instead of nearly £70. That's the best bit about TK Maxx, knowing how much you've saved. It was hard work finding the item but it's worth it when you work out how much money you've saved by not buying it from another store, or from the internet. I've also managed to bag myself a pair of oh so comfy DC skate shoes, some Calvin Klein baby grows for bump, and a handful of bargains for my fella too which he was pleased about. There's something for most tastes when it comes to clothing, and there are hundreds of items in the home section so you can kit out your gaff with big brand names at a fraction of the original costs.
The only downside for me in TK Maxx at the moment was that there isn't any Maternity clothing, but I'm coming close to the end of my pregnancy now so it isn't a major thing for me. There doesn't seem to be much choice for pregnant women anywhere on the high street at the moment in general which has been very disappointing.
If you like hunting around for a bargain then TK Maxx is definitely the place for you. You may spend a little longer in there than you expected but it's worth it when you come away with a handful of bargain big name items. Depending on the store size depends on the amount of stock available and the choice available. However, for a small town our store is of medium size and they still have lots of stuff for your home as well as clothing, shoes and accessories.
Summary: Bargains galore if your willing to have a good rummage around through the rails.
