Quirky pieces, slightly over-priced (Top Shop)

Advantages: Unique fashion.

Disadvantages: Pricey.

Topshop is a high street store that is part of the arcadia group. They are renowned for the quirky, unique outfits and the OTT accessories.

I often find myself wondering in to Topshop and having a browse but very seldom find anything that I would actually wear. I am a big fan of their jackets and dresses but that's about as far as it goes. I think it's good to stand out from the crowd and express yourself...but there is such a thing as taking it too far!

Topshop is loved by many celebrities and Kate Moss has her own line of clothing which is rock-chick inspired. I think that Topshop use the fact that these items are designed by a famous model to push prices up.

Prices in Topshop are generally very high. Sometimes it is possible to find a nice top or skirt in the sale, but as in most shops it's usually the size 6's and the 18's left in the sale racks.

Sweets are often sold at the counter in stores although again seem to be stupidly priced. For a pack of strawberry laces you would expect to pay 50p but Topshop seem to get away with charging £2 for them?!?!

The one thing that I truly love about Topshop is the amazing shoes that they sell (even though they all cost nearly £100). But the price tag is the thing that deters me. I think that a lot of people look in Topshop for ideas of what's in fashion and then go elsewhere to cheaper stores to buy look-a-likes for a fraction of the price.

Overall Topshop is a good store and is obviously doing very well for itself. It has some fresh ideas and the shape and cut of clothing is always interesting and admirable but the prices are too high when you think that it probably cost them pennies to make these clothes!

Summary: A good shop but prices are far too high!
