Advantages: fashionable and quality clothing

Disadvantages: expensive

When I was a teenager, I would always lurk at the side of Top Shop whilst my thin friends would try on and purchase clothes. You see I was rather plump at one point and could not squeeze my fat ass into any of the clothes that they sold there. I think they went up to a size 14 or 16 and they were small for size at that. Fortunately I am much smaller than that now and venture in and look around without feeling paranoid that all of the shop assistants are taking the 'mick' out of me for being so huge!

The Top Shop in Plymouth has both a men and women's department but for some strange reason the men have been banished to the upstairs quarters! Lol!

The great thing about this shop is the fact that the clothes aren't all crammed in. As a mum with a double buggy, there is nothing worse than not being able to move around a store with ease. The clohes are well presented and are in size order on the rail which makes it very easy to see if they have you size or not.

The clothes are very fashionable and a lot of them look as if they have come straight off the catwalk. Most of them are very girly and although on my shopping trip the other day, I didn't find anything that fitted me well, I usually do.

The quality of the clothes is fantastic although I did have to return a top once because it went 'bobbly' in the very first wash. I had no problems with this and they gave me a full refund with no questions asked.

My only gripe with the place is the cost of everything. I am a bargain hunter through and through, so to be asked for £30 for a top that is as thin as Victoria Beckham just get's my goat. I find that everything is way over the price I'm prepared to pay and only buy something from here if it's a special occasion or I want something a little different.

The mens department seems to stock a lot of retro style stuff which my hubby isn't into so I can't really comment on this.

Over all this is a very trendy and fashionable place to go if you are not any bigger than a 14-16 and want to spend a bit more than £15 on anything.
