Advantages: lots of stuff
Disadvantages: messy
Trago Mills is a huge superstore that ambles through a massive building, selling anything and everything you can imagine: furniture, carpets, clothes, art equipment, watches, models, toys etc etc are all housed in this massive place.
There are two of these in the South West, and both are in fairly remote locations, which means to get there is always a big trip out. Because of that, you tend to find yourself going there with quite a list of things to buy, and for me this often leads to disappointment as you rarely get much of what you need.
The store has a huge car park with a river running next to it, and chickens and hens free-roaming arond, which is a lovely touch.
The store itself is very hit or miss. Stock changes on a regular basis, and you find yourself in the midst of thousands of items which is quite daunting. The place is always busy, and because things aren't particularly well organised, you find everything mixed up and messed up a lot. You have to fight your way around to be within any chance of getting something good.
Prices used to be cheap, but are creeping up, and now sit at the same level as high-street shops such as Argos.
The staff are nice enough, but when you leave they have a security guard who checks you have receipts for everything you've bought, which I find annoying.
It's not just cheap stuff they sell, though. You can get the odd £5000 hand carved tree trunk table or the like, and it's pretty famous for having these odd quirky things every now and again.
All in all, it's a long trip out, and with ever evolving stock it can be very hit or miss. I often come away with having only bought a few pens, so don't go unless you want loads of stuff.
Summary: up to you

- 26/06/09 I'm surprised those chickens don't get nicked in this climate... :) |

- 26/06/09 Don't 'diss' pens; I often find myself coming home having bought a few too. And mugs. They're the things you buy because coming home empty-handed would be disappointing. |
