I'm a Pro photographer, and Venture can take lovely pictures quite often. The technique is called Hi-Key, quite straightforward, just needs space and plenty of flashes on the background, and softboxes on the subject, YOU. Nice, flattering results usually. But to me it's emotional blackmail. And gives my trade a bad name, even though I'm not really a family photographer. I think that it is dreadful that people are fooled into the studio, expecting to pay a few hundred pounds for a bit of substance, where £200 hardly buys anything. And most normal people, ie on a modest income who walk away with next to nothing, walk away and probably feel tormented for a few weeks to think that those lovely photos they saw on the nice leather couch while drinking the nice filter coffee will never be seen again, and deleted forever in a year or so.
