Advantages: Quality of food and Meal deal offers

Disadvantages: Some basic items are a bit overpriced

Waitrose is not the main supermarket that I use but I do pop into my local every now and then. I like many people was under the impression that Waitrose is a lot more expensive than other places but I have found this to be not entirely true, yes some of the products in my opinion are overpriced but in general it is only slightly more expensive and in some cases cheaper. The food they sell if always of a top standard and I never have any complaints. I don't know if due to the credit crunch that they have realised they need to lower their prices but I find them very reasonable. Some of the best deals can be found nearer the end of the day when they are marking down items, I have managed to get quite a few things recently that have been reduced and they are usually good reduction like something that was £4.59 is now £2.19!. Also you should look out for the meal deals that they do, usually on special occasions like Valentine's day or Mother's day they will do a 2 for £10 or £15 meal which includes wine, sometimes the wine it self is priced at almost half the meal alone. If you are thinking of visiting Waitrose you should go for it, you may find it is not as expensive as you think!

Summary: A top quality supermarket which may not be as expensive as you think.
