Advantages: good quality, fresh, high standards

Disadvantages: can be costly

Waitrose is a supermarket like no other. It is part of the John-Lewis Partnership chain and it is a supermarket at the higher end of the market. There is not such an abundance of these stores, as compared to the other supermarkets, however one shouldn't be too far away.

Whilst growing up, Waitrose was the main supermarket we shopped at, it was local, so that would have been convenient, but it was not only that. The food inside is of good quality, you know what you are getting, organic, free range food that is fresh. I have rarely, if ever, seen a section filled with discounted products that look pretty rancid, perhaps this is as it does not fit in with the way they wish to be perceived. Cheap it is not, good for value it is.

The stores themselves are fresh and clean with space to shop which is something I really appreciate, one thing I hate most is when you have to fight your way around the supermarket. The staff are also helpful and can advise you if you need some help.

I have recently seen adverts in the paper and on the television for an 'essentials' waitrose collection. This seems to be a very good idea and I can't wait to go and see for myself.

Summary: Try it for yourself
