A supermarket that doesn't have a depressing atmosphere (Waitrose)

Advantages: Good quality food

When it comes to supermarkets, there are three kinds that exist; budget such as Tesco and Asda; middle of the range such as Sainsbury's and higher end of the range such as Waitrose. Generally for anything other than canned food, crisps, drinks and sandwiches I do not recommend Tesco's since there is too much emphasis on the budget range which affects the taste. On the other hand Sainsbury's is hit and miss, some budget some good quality.

This brings me to the point of this review, Waitrose. Like M&S the food at Waitrose tends to be slightly more expensive than that of Sainsbury's or Tesco yet one is less likely to buy something that is inedible. Certain kinds of food I will never buy at Tesco or Sainsbury's and will always buy from Waitrose. For example if I'm having a BBQ, the burgers, buns and cheese will be from Waitrose. The burgers may be slightly more expensive but I know that it will meet the minimum standard. For sausages I may buy them from Sainsbury's but I may also buy them Waitrose.

Many times I have bought food from Sainsbury's only to take it home and realize that it hasn't been kept refrigerated properly. On the other hand I haven't experienced this with Waitrose.

The kind of people who shop and waitrose also seem to be slightly more upmarket, in a higher income bracket. For anyone who wishes to pay a bit more for higher quality I highly recommend Waitrose.
