Fancy a peaceful place to read through some books? (Waterstone's)

Advantages: Very positive shopping experience

Disadvantages: More expensive than internet based sellers

Waterstone's is a national chain of bookstores, which I find provide a very good shopping experience if I am looking for any type of book. As some reviewers have pointed out its prices are not all that great when compared to Amazon for example however I think this is a slightly unfair comparison because Waterstone's does offer a lot that Amazon does not.

Whenever I go to Waterstone's, it always has a quiet atmosphere, which feels very appropriate for a book shop. There are always comfy seats around their shops so that you can just sit down and read any book without having to buy it which is very generous. I find this is also useful when deciding which book to buy.

My experiences with the staff in Waterstone's have always been positive also- they are always happy to help and they will check up books for you on Waterstone's computers, ordering them in if they don't have it in stock.

A final point is that some Waterstone's have a Starbucks in them so that you can go and get a coffee etc. in a very nice and peaceful environment.

If you know exactly what book you want to buy then this maybe isn't the best place to go, however if you want to go and browse through some books then this is the ideal place.

Summary: I love this place and highly recommend it
