Advantages: Good range of products

Disadvantages: Geared towards the professional DIY'er

Wickes stores do look a bit daunting sometimes as they stock everything for the serious builder, not just weekend DIY ers!

Their products are usually good quality and I've found the staff to be more knowledgeable than most of the young lads in some DIY stores.

Their range of conservatories is excellent. I ordered the conservatory for my last house from them, and they fitted it. I was delighted with the quality, price and workmanship and when I thought about having a conservatory fitted to my present house, went straight back there.

Only to be told..... they no longer fit them. In fact the guarantee is easily invalidated if another builder fits them, but as they don't do it themselves there is no choice.

I think their prices are average, but they have a particularly good range of doors and stonework.

Shame about the conservatories though!
