New Wickes Heritage Grey Kitchen: Lovely kitchen, good value - installation awful. One month after the agreed installation date we are missing : 1 wall unit (won't fit and damaged by fitter), 1 base unit (failed QA!), cornicing (won't fit), holes for pipes for dishwasher and sink, kick boards, glass shevling, lighting, and compensation!

Just bought a Wickes Heritage Grey kitchen from Wickes Woking. Absolute disaster - 1 month after it was supposed to be fitted we have: a missing wall unit (my fitted kitchen didn't all fit!) a missing base unit (failed QA!), no cornicing (didn't measure-up properly!), a broken wall unit ("fell over in the wind" ..right!), no kickboards, no shelving, no plumbed in appliances, no holes to plumb them in ourselves ... and no apology or compensation.

I have just bought my kitchen from Wickes. I have had the new latte coloured gloss units and the woodgrain units. I ordered this from the Crewe branch. The designer who came to see me was Steve who having listened to what I wanted designed me such a lovely kitchen. When I returned to the store to discuss the plan, it was alot more expensive ... Once upon a time the choices available for places to buy DIY goods was almost more than anyone could want. Nowadays the market has shrunk significantly and it's hard to know why. Why can the likes of B&Q go from strength to strength whilst Texas vanishes from sight? I've already written a review of Focus DIY and my analysis of their ... Read the complete review

Wickes is a large DIY store. It stocks everything from odd bits like door handles, paint, light fittings and screws to kitchen and bathroom suites. It is the best place in our area for getting the best balance between cheap vs. quality, and as such a lot of small businesses in our area use Wickes for purchasing materials. I have ... I have been to Wickes on a couple of ocassions as it is only about 2 miles from me and closer than a B&Q store. The Wickes range of hardware and diy items is limited compared to B&Q as they mainly stock their own Wickes branded items. I believe Wickes is owned by Travis Perkins which is a merchant specialising in plumbing items therefore ... Read the complete review

Wickes is a large DIY chain in the UK, with over 190 stores across the nation. It is owned by Travis Perkins the popular builders merchant and supplies building materials to both the public and to the trade. Wickes HQ is based in Northampton and the first store was opened in the UK in 1972. I have been into Wickes a couple of times, ... Read the complete review

In the past I was not to keen on Wickes but last year after looking around for weeks for a new kitchen we decided to give them a look. I was very surprised to see how much they have improved over the last few years. When we looked at the kitchen we were asked if we needed help but was not pestered all the time. In the end we decided on a ... Read the complete review

For the last 5 years i've lived in my house with only a shower, sink and toilet in the bathroom and have always wanted to have the shower taken out and replaced with a bath. Finally at the end of June I had saved up enough money so I went in search of the perfect bath. My first stop was Focus as we have one nearby but I wasnt really ... Read the complete review

Wickes is a budget DIY store a couple of rungs down the ladder from the likes of Focus and Homebase (our usual destinations for our home improvement needs). It tends to be cheaper than Homebase and Focus, but their products are just as good in our experience. We normally only nip into Wickes to buy our paint (it seems to be the cheapest ... Wickes is a DIY store with stores around the UK. These are usually out of the town centre and have plenty of free parking. Wickes stores are well laid out with kitchens and bathrooms shown in situ. They often have deals on depending on the time of year. In store you can also pick up DIY sheets showing you everything from fitting floor ... Read the complete review

I have always found Wickes to be a good DIY store for price and products. You may get the professionals who prefer to go to the independent places which is fair enough but for the home amateur DIYER it is great. They offer good value compared to some other stores such as Homebase and B&Q. Its very handy having virtually everything you need ... Read the complete review

Wickes sell a wide range of products from kitchens and bathrooms to fencing and concrete. They portray themselves as a trade shop that is open to the public but to be honest their prices are higher than genuine trade shops. Having said that compared to B&Q and similar stores their prices compare well especially on the Wickes own ... Read the complete review

our kitchen installers have been fitting wickes kitchens and other competitors for several years and we have found the wickes kitchen to be far superior from the confirmation of delivery to actual delivery they turn up as they say usually 7.30am in the morning and the drivers are very well organised they lay out all the boxes so you can identify all the parts on the delivery sheet and it will be correct guaranteed. the quality of the kitchen is excellent and if anything has been damaged in transit they will replace them by courier the next day if you want a good quality kitchen at a very reasonable price then look no further we highly recommend them

Wickes is a great DIY store that i believe is much better than B&Q. When you go to B&Q you always struggle toget parked the stores are huge and sell large amount of items that are not the basic DIY requirements. If it is basic DIY products you are after you are much better off going to Wickes. Wickes is cheaper on most products than ... Read the complete review

Our local Focus was converted to a Wickes not long back (in Glossop). The store has a straightforward layout with like products grouped together. The staff are available to help if you ask but do not approach you to find out how you are shopping. The store stocks a range of equipment for the DIYer and the tradesman. It has floor tiles, ... well all i can say with honesty is that as a general store for tradesmen it has no equal if you are self employed and not doing just one job Wickes is Vital or you will spend half of yout time travelling to get the things you need Wickes prices are also very good and their tools are NOT DIY toys from as far back as the 80s with their rotary hummer drills their tools have always been at least tradesman quality
now am just retired but any small jobs i need to do is first down to wickes

I've got a new house and a small and quite pathetic patio which needs extending to make it a reasonble size, the only place in the whole world which seems to stock the same size as colour slabs is Wickes.
