Good ol' Wilk's! (Wilkinsons)

Advantages: Wide range, cheap, convenient.

Disadvantages: None!

I'm lucky to have a Wilkinson's within a couple of minutes drive away....why lucky? I hear you cry...well, lucky because whenevr I need something in a hurry, I can pretty much guaranteee that I'll find it at good ol' Wilko's! About to start decorating, but realise all the paintbrushes are rock-solid? Off to Wilko's for some new ones! About to strim the lawn, but realise the strimmer reel is empty? Off to Wilko's for a replacement reel!

You get the idea. It's very handy indeed. Cheap too. It's a lot further for me to drive to B&Q for such items, & you can bet it'll cost a heck of a lot more too!

Wilko's have most things covered. They sell toiletries, cleaning products, pet foods/accessories, home wares (including bathwares, kitchenwares, decorative items etc), DIY, stationary, along with an ever-changing seasonal section, which includes predominantly gardening items in the summer, & Christmas decorations/gifts/toys etc in the winter.

The stores are frequently being modernised & updated, & recent packaging changes/logo changes give everything a much more modern feel. There are other stores of a similar ilk (such as Home Bargains), but Wilko's comes out on top in terms of layout & style.

Service is usually swift, & the staff friendly. Each store has a customer service desk at the entrance, which makes enquiries/returns etc a doddle.

Wilko's has also joined the online revolution, but I haven't yet tried this service (& anyway it warrants a seperate review in another category....!).

Most towns will be lucky enough to have a Wilko's nearby...try it, it's well worth a look.

Summary: Hard to beat...
