Advantages: Low prices, vast range of items

Disadvantages: Sometimes hit and miss on the non-tacky scale

Wilkinsons is an amazing place but one that I often forget about. It sells just about everything, toiletries, home furnishings, food, toys, gardening stuff. It's similar to Woolworths in terms of quality and value for money but is a larger store with more of a range.

It's a step up from a pound shop so you won't find anything exceptionally upmarket and like a pound shop can be a bit hit and miss in terms of tackiness, but does have some very nice stuff. In fact sometimes its cheaper than a pound shop as it is able to sell things for less than a pound.

The layout of the stores is easy to find your way around and has plenty of space to get down the aisles, even with a trolley or pushchair. The staff are helpful but you can sometimes get quite long queues when everyone is in there getting their bargains.

There are a lot of them around (near me anyway) so its always easy to find one and I particularly like their christmas decoration and toy selections. Although it is a bit dangerous, once you're in there you can always find something to buy.

Summary: A really useful and bargainous shop to have around
