Advantages: Pretty much everything!
Disadvantages: No I do not want a mobile top up or stamps ta!
One of my favourite bits and bobs shops is Wilkinson's. I love shops that stock bits of all sorts and wherever I go and there is one I will go in and take a mooch about. I did work for them at one time and I hated it and quit after a couple of weeks years ago infact but I may have hated working there but I've never stopped shopping there lol!
Like I have just stated Wilkinson's stock allsorts of items. Most stores I have been in have pretty massive and I have one very local to where I live in Weston Super Mare.
My store stocks toiletries, homeware, pet supplies, home/office, cleaning products, baby products, seasonal items, diy products, some food and drink (including of late sandwiches for a round a pound a pack!), perfumes...yep pretty much everything even some items of clothes!
I have recently moved and found Wilkinson's to meet so many of my shopping needs! Locks for my front door at a couple of pounds each, even a blade for a knife for my Step dad he needed in a hurry for some diy he was doing in my flat. Lampshades at a couple of pounds each and I love the toiletries with big brand names being cheap as well as a great variety of Wilkinson's own products which are usually very cheap to buy indeed and more often than not on offer as well!
Also I keep hamsters and this is the cheapest place I have found around selling pet products. I have bought flea spray when I got fleas in my old flat from someones cat which cost me a couple of quid a can and the hamster food here is less than £1.50 a bag and my hammies really like it. Add to that mineral blocks and treats for them...yep this is my favourite place to get their stuff from and they're happy too!
Homeware is also great. I bought myself a nice 4 place dinner set for under £10.00, a white electric kettle for my mate for under £6.00 which she was thrilled with and the stuff is usually modern and very up to date.
I always buy Wilkinson's own tights which are £2.00 for 5 pairs and I love them and think they are absolutely amazing value for money as well as bottles of names fragrances from as little as £6.00 a bottle.
There really is something for everyone instore here!
I don't feel that the staff are all that knowledgeable here, on the whole although they have been section trained. They are smart enough in their red t shirts and black trousers and no one has ever been impolite to me but trying to find the right member of staff to deal with your query can be quite a trial and a visit to customer services can lead to long waiting times. You can however order items instore that they usually have in stock and they call you to let you know your item/s have arrived though I never see enough tills open or enough staff on the shop floor.
I like the layout of Wilkinson's stores. I usually find the stores to be tidy, methodical and with wide aisles, suitable for the disabled and for pram, buggies etc. I like the bright lights in store and the way items are, again usually with prices of them and so I know what I'm paying.
I find the prices to be really good here on the whole. Medical supplies such as paracetamol are very cheap as are some of their face products. I can't comment on children's things not having myself mind you!
It's a store I go into with no shopping list and end up buying things I wasn't aware I wanted or needed every time. It isn't really a place I go to look for a particular item apart from for pet stuff, tights and face wipes but I do usually end up splashing some cash but I don't mind that...I'm really pleased with everything I have bought from there!
