Until recently, I have always disregarded Wilkinsons for selling only Garden and Homeware, so I'd rarely go in. However, I was recently to find out that I only thought this because this is all my Dad had ever been in for, and now, I see why.
I am a college student and there a Wilkinsons about a 5 minute walk away from campus. As I dislike the soggy chips served at college, I now reguarly pop into Wilkinsons for lunch. It wasn't until a friend suggested buying lunch from there I even knew they sold sandwiches etc. When I did go in, I was amazed to see what they actually did sell.
The store is amazingly well priced, on more or less everything they sell. It would be ridiculous to pinpoint a good range of products there, all of them are. Firstly, the lunch range they sell is great. I regularly go in for Sushi and as a dieter, I think it's great they sell food like this. All sandwiches and lunch items are in a big fridge and taste lovely and fresh. Infact, they have an entire food aisle, with everything ranging from crisps to cornish pasties. I am currently dieting and they also sell Weight Watcher food, which is not badly priced at all. For students this place is fantastic. The stationary is an amazing price, I managed to pick up a pack of biro's the other day for just 25p and a Stabilo Boss highlighter for 90p, prices that wont break the bank.
The products range from Wilkinsons own brand products to the big makes, and most of the time the Wilkinsons range is just as good as the big brands, the nail polish remover pads for example, are almost identical to the big makes.
They sell all sorts of things, literally you could do half your weekly shopping there, the list would be endless. Right down to cotton balls, they have a great beauty range there. Specifically for the children they have toys and arts and crafts, and as I first thought, a great range of Garden and Homeware products, including classy bedroom items and very well priced paint. The have an aisle which sells most of the things your local drugstore would, an aisle for babies, stationary, even for pets. They also stock JML products, which most places do not.
The store is always clean and most of the staff are friendly, I have had a few occasions where I have found some of them to be a bit gormless, but I think you get that in most places. Of course, not everything can be the cheapest around, and I'm sure there will be some products which are more expensive than in other places, but overall I would highly recommend this place for good quality products. I have even had a friend go into Boots for a product and the staff there recommended buying it at Wilkinsons (Although they would probably get fired for that!). I am yet to have a negative experience and will continue to speak highly of Wilkinsons until I do so. I rarely ever give 5 star ratings but this store deserves it. A MASSIVE thumbs up.
