Advantages: a wide range of products

Disadvantages: not really good value

I only ever tend to go into Woolworths when I'm at a loose end, like using up my dinner break or when I don't really know what I want. it's not a shop that I would tend to visit town specially for.

Although in recent years the selection of goods they carry has increased, they don't really specialise in anything so all of their stores seem like a bit of a mish mash of products.

They usually have a wide range of CDs and DVDs, but nothing is really good value and cheaper prices can usually be found by shopping around or shopping online. They also do video games for the Wii, Xbox and Playstation 3, but again, the prices aren't really competitive and better deals can usually be found elsewhere.

They do carry a lot of childrens toys, including well known brands such as V Tech and Tomy. Like so many other things, the prices aren't competitive, unless they have special offers on.

The staff tend to be few and far between in my experience, they seem to concentrate on the till areas, without any staff being on the shop floor. While this is great when you're at the back of a long queue, when you need some help it's not do good!

Summary: large high street store with a wide selection of products
