I recently purchased, or at least thought I had, some flowers for my grandmothers 80th birthday. I live over 400 miles away so couldn't be with her for her big day. I ordered the flowers and received the confirmation that they would be delivered on her big day. No flowers arrived and I received another mail, the day after the supposed delivery, to tell me that the order had been cancelled for one of up to 7 reasons! I am deeply disappointed with the service received and have now vowed never to cross the threshold of woolworths ever again after hearing the disappointment in my grandmothers voice when she did not receive her present.

I too have heard the rumours that Woolworths is to shut down/ go into receiversip etc..... but have heard these rumours so many times and I really can't see it happening, though perhaps I am being naive in the current financial climate. I like the fact that Woolworths has been around longer than i have been alive and think it would be a great shame to see it close. If the rumores are to be believed thaen woolworths are struggling but i have to say i never been our local shop and it be empty. I think this is partly because they offer such variety. This shop has a mixed variety of items that they sell and these include kitchen items, bedding, cleaning products, kids and adults clothing, baby equipment, garden furniture but i think they are most popular for their selection of toys, sweets, cd's, dvds, and games for consoles such as xbox 360, playstation 3 and nintendo ds. I only ever tend to go into Woolworths when I'm at a loose end, like using up my dinner break or when I don't really know what I want. it's not a shop that I would tend to visit town specially for. Although in recent years the selection of goods they carry has increased, they don't really specialise in anything so all of their stores ... Read the complete review

Woolworths is one of those shops that I went into a lot when I was young as it was a great place to spend my pocket money but these days I guess the only time I go in is at Christmas as it is a good place to buy selection boxes and wrapping paper for presents. Woolworth's is one of those multi-purpose stores that you just take for granted, somewhere you might just check to see if they've got it, so to speak. It has been around for many years, and they still pop up all over the place. The store nearest me has changed sites a couple of times to expand, and each time I've gone in there recently I have ...
