i have had a lot of work done by this company but if you have a problem their after sales service is terrible, they lie and blame you if someting is wrong, will never recommend anyone to have them work done by them
I've used this company several times and I have to be fair that their work is good (which is why I used them more than once), staff are polite and they turn up when they say they will.Watch out though: The last time the salesman lied about the interest payments on the finance package, which they eventually cancelled when I threatened court proceedings. They have also regularly made unwanted sales calls since the installation - quite illegally as I have explicitly denied them the right to do so in writing and I am additionally subscribed to the telephone preference service. Their prices also start very high and then come down over a very long high-pressure sales visit to something more reasonable, but you really have to push.
We have just had our windows, doors, and garage door replaced by Zenith and I can say they were very good. Everyone that we dealt with was professional in their approach and the after sales service was brilliant. They had to come back to install the garage door as it took longer to manufacture, but 9 windows, a patio door, and 2 other doors were completed in a day.In short, they were brilliant.
I wont say I wasn't warned about window salesmen but on the day when I foolishly booked three appointments (Crystal Windows, Anglian and Zenith) Zenith stood out as odiously unprofessional, pushy, disorganised, horrendously pricey and made me feel uncomfortable in my own home.
The rep was 40 minutes late, not a great start and I told him so ... He didn't even apologise.
He then launched into a diatribe about how Zenith were the only window company never to go bust, criticised every other window company he could and then told us all about their "Superior" product and their payment plan.
PAYMENT PLAN?????? He hadn't even given us a quote!!!! My boyfriend asked him several times, politely and tactfully, to get on with it, but he was oblivious to this and kept pushing, pushing, pushing ... Buy today, sign today. SIGN WHAT???? He hadn't even given us a quote!!
Finally, the quote was delivered. 10K ... For a one bedroom flat. Seriously??? Its not the Crystal Palace for goodness sake!! Then the price mysteriously went down. We can get a discount if we become a show home and show every Herbert who wishes to see them our windows, inside and out. we can get a discount if we have a board outside our house advertising Zenith for 3 months. The price went down to £3,800
This man was in our house for 2 hours and 15 minutes. He took his shoes off and exhibited his hole-y socks and just would not leave. My boyfriend had to insist that he leave, packed his things and walked him to the door but not before the rep called his manager who then tried to push my boyfriend into signing. To make matters worse, I received a phone call on the following day and the price had dropped again to £3,300.
What is it with this company? They were so pushy and made me feel so uncomfortable. I felt like I wanted to leave because he wouldn't. I hated every minute of his sales pitch. I hated that he acted like he was doing us a favour dropping the price like Bid Down TV. Zenith's approach was odious and I wonder how many people sign just to get them out of there. How many people sign because they feel pressured and bullied
A foul experience, a foul company, I would NEVER recommend them to anyone EVER!!
I have a signed contract here from Zenith , one of their blue forms that they give you when you have agreed a price. Zenith are not going to supply me the windows because they say the price they have quoted me is too cheap!!! The salesman from the Watford office agreed to carry out the work which included some brick work, we agreed a price, I paid the deposit and then never heard back from them. I chased them up and they said they had cancelled my order, something they forgot to tell me...! I am still waiting for my deposit.. The window was for my 4 month old daughters room.. Thanks a bunch Zenith, you've really lived up to the stereotypical double glazing company. My advice is look elswhere.. As Zenith are not interested in your house or your best interest they are only interested in you money and if it suits their needs.
I used Zenith before they started calling themselves staybrite, over 10 years ago.
Their windows are great!
A Zenith rep knocked on my door earlier this year, asking if I am happy with my windows and could they take a picture of them, these maybe used in their magazine and we could get money.
I thought, against my better judgement, why not, could save us some cash.
Whilst the chap was taking pictures I started to realise the windows ARE great, they looked brand new even after 10 years+.
A few months later, this whole scene is repeated when I stated they had already taken pictures, he said, they had been lost, so same again.
A few months later Zenit called me saying that my windows are working their way up the list to be used in their magazine, discounts and promotions mentioned that could be available if they did make it into the magazine.
It was mentioned that I had become eligible for a discounted quote, I explained that I had no funds for anything like this however cheap, it would be held on file for 2 years I'm told, I could use it anytime in that period.
I said I wasn't interested, thanks.
Couple months later, you guessed, same again, I explained they had done this before, they explained photo had moved up list further now in last 50! Explained the 2 year offer in more detail, I thought, against my better judgement why not, get the quote use it if I want.
Organised a time for the visit.
Received a call from the manager later asking if the appointment was still ok, I said yes, will your wife be there, I said yes, thinking irrelevant question.
The salesman turned up 1 hour late, my wife had to go out by then, he passed her on the footpath, he looked gutted to have missed her!?
We looked at my current windows, I said I wanted a quote for most of the windows, if quote held on file for 2 years might as well get one for everything.
He then concentrated on the patio doors, measured up, raved on how good their doors are, gave me the scare story about how insecure other doors are. Then we are in the kitchen and he tried to sell me credit. and he scribbled a figure down, like £8549 or summut, there wot do you think of that he said, I said well it's a quote, I havn't had any others, so can't compare, he then said wot do you think of it though, I looked at him blankly and said, not a lot I'd have to get other quote to be able to comment.
He said he could do a better price and showed me, I'm ammused now and said well if this is going to be held for 2 years, he said, no this price would only be on offer tonight.
Realising the hard sell which I HATE, I said carefully and loudly that there will be no way I am buying any windows tonight what ever the price I only want a quote.
He now gets his phone out and calls his manager, without saying a word to me, discusses the offer and credit and why I'm now buying, the manager starts relaying questions to me, loaded like why can't I buy them now, I just told the saleman to tell his manager I WILL NOT BE BUYING ANY WINDOWS TONIGHT! loud enough for the manager to hear.
After getting off the phone to the manager, he didn't try much more, didn't measure up the other windows, didn't give me a quote. Left as soon as possible.
The manager called me a little while later, I asked about the 2 year offer etc, yes thats all ok, held on file, rang off when he realised was not going to get any further on.
Pissed me off this all did.....
Couple of months later, I get a call offering me a 2 year offer, hang on I said this all been done before! Oh that must have been done by a different dept. I went along, arranged an appointment, thought if the saleman want to stand in my kitchen whilst I shout my frustration at him, go for it, when the manager calls to check appointment, he realises who I am, we come to the conclusion it would be a waste of time.
Anyway, what has prompted me to write all this is, this evening, a few months later, I get a call, from Zenith, I am eligible for a promotion!
I went off on one, was polite, but irritated, told them breifly the above and they should have this on their records, this is the same thing all over again, no it's not I'm told, this is a xmas offer!
I said, remove me from your database, stop calling me, I'm told I have to write to head office!
NOT HAPPY AT ALL
Any way about an hour later, my land line rings, not my moblie this time, only Zenit again, called me by mistake!, Same woman, OMG!
So, in a couple months time, I will be VERY interested in having a salesman round, after having a couple of their salesman going back to thier office shakking after their visit to me, they will take me off their database.
Great product, crap company, Zenith stayshite wndows.
We called Zenith windows today for a quote not buying, the salesman came ontime and introduced their products to us. It seems like good quality and pretty happy with their product. However, after measuring 6 windows and a patio door the saleman quoted me £23,001. I was completely in shock and couldn't believe and add to my surprised the salesman has not got a mobile phone to contacted his office. He has to asked if he could used my phone to contact his office, what sort of a salesman is that?? Also When I told them that im not interested and they are a bunch of ripped off. He told me that I wasted his time for inviting them around. Time are hard and I expected company are begging for customs but I guessd Zenith does not value their customer or professional enough. I recommended that they need to train all their sales staff and give an honest price instead of all the catch with the 50% discount. £23,001 I could have built an extension, etc.
NEVER EVER BUY FROM ZENITH YOU WILL BE PLAGUED BY CALLS FOREVER .
I bought a door from Zenith. The crazy thing is that the door is good quality and I have absolutely no complaints about the door at all. However, I have been plagued by constant calls ever since. All times of the day, all days of the week, despite repeatedly requesting not be called, being registered with the TPS and despite writing to Gary Burton the Managing Director who gave written assurance that my details would be removed from their database. They are driving me crazy. When they called most recently and i told them in plain English that I did not want to be called, they said that they 'check up on customers' for up to 10 years (??!) after they bought the product. It's crazy - if I had a problem with the work, I'D CALL THEM! They continue to call despite a formal warning from the Information Comissioner in Dec 2006 warning them that to continue calling customers who have requested no calls is a CRIMINAL OFFENCE. When this is pointed out to them, they laugh, have no respect and treat you with contempt. STEER WELL CLEAR!!!!!!! I truly believe that the only way they will leave me alone is if they go bust - like Bowater Homes. i live in hope. PS i had to give a star rating below- it wouldn't let me give 'no stars' but believe you me, one is too many!
I do not tend to write reviews, but I feel impelled to write this review because of the completely appalling nature of the above company. They got us to sign the contract for windows in May and it is now December and we still have nothing. Everytime we ring we get a standard response "we will ring you back this evening with a firm date" - they never ring back. I have never had to deal with such an incompetant and utterly disgraceful company such as this one before. They use hard sell tactics. The salesman will use a premeditated pantomine phone call to talk to the manager, who will then offer you more discounts than a £1 shop to get you to sign on the night. Each salesman has a quota to reach and he will do whatever is necessary to reach it. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!
SHAME ON ZENITH STAYBRITE.
A FOUR TO SIX WEEK FITTING COMPLETION HAS SO FAR BEEN TWENTY TWO WEEKS AND STILL GOING.
NO JOY WRITING TO HEAD OFFICE OR TELEPHONING DIFFERENT DEPTS, AS ALL YOU GET IS A PROMISE THAT SOME IGNORANT MANAGER WILL RING YOU BACK, SOME HOPE.
I AGREE WITH OTHER REVIEWS ABOUT THE LYING SALESMEN AND THEIR AGRESSIVE SALES METHODS, ALSO IN MY CASE THE WORK CARRIED OUT TO DATE IS NOT ALL THAT SPECIAL.
THE COMPANY DO KNOW ABOUT THE PROBLEMS BUT ALTHOUGH THEY SAY THAT THEY ARE A CARING COMPANY, BELIEVE YOU ME THEY ARE FAR FROM CARING, QUITE THE OPPOSITE IN FACT AND THE IGNORANT FACTOR SEEMS TO GO RIGHT TO THE TOP OF THE PILE.
I DO SO MUCH REGRET NOT HAVING SEEN YOUR REVIEWS BEFORE I FOOLISHLY COMMITED MYSELF TO SIGNING A CONTRACT THAT SEEMS TO HAVE LITTLE CHANCE OF BEING COMPLETED BY ZENITH STAYBRITE.
JUST IN CASE SOMEONE FROM THE COMPANY READS THIS MY ORDER NO. IS 08B04828.
At my invitation and on the clear understanding that I just wanted a quote, I was visited by a salesman from Zenith this evening.
I wanted only two windows changed to give additional ventilation.
The salesman measured, explained the benefits of the Zenith product over competitors and then gave me a quote for £2,921. I said this was a more than I wanted to pay but less than I was expecting to hear. He intimated that he mught be able to do a deal for about £2500. I said I would be interested but I would have to think about it.
He phoned his manager, who asked to speak to me. The manager asked if I would sign on the night if the price was £2000. I said that I would probably sign the following night for that price. He said he was not interested in the following night.
I passed him back to the salesman who I invited to leave.
I told the salesman as he left that I was happy with what he had done for me and that if I had not spoken to his manager I would probably have had the work done for £2500 without bothering to get another quote.
I will now only use Zenith if I cannot get it done by somebody else for less than £2000.
I have come to the firm conclusion that zenith windows are evil, for years we have received calls from them. One day we actually decided we did want new windows (and ill just add I did not decided to use these people!). Dispite not having high hopes due to there dodgy marketing strategy the windows where installed nicely and have never had a fault with them. However Still avoid these people like the plague. As the calls you get from them after are dreadfull, call after call, no matter what you say they still call you. They come to you house, tell you about promotions. They DRIVE YOU CRAZY. This type of bad customer service really bugs me, telemarketing is definetly evil and when you have bought somthing you would expect a company to try do there best to please you, but instead they have made me want to write this.
Ok my rant is over. Dont buy things off this company!
