Dirk Polaris Scrambler 500: ... bought a Polaris 500 Sportsman New in 2000 and fell in love with the Scrambler riding with a friend in West Virginia in 2004. The 2005 Scrambler 500 4x4 that I purchased has been really great for trail riding and around the cabin offroading. I put on a K&N Filter and noticed a slight gain as well as all Moose Shielding and a D&G front bumper. The only thing I would caution people on is be ready to get splas...

catmandoes Polaris Scrambler 500
... own a 2007 Polaris Scrambler , EU Version. This was bought after much research as to which was the right Quad for me. I wanted trail orienated machine that was capable of giving a reasnoble performance on roads as well. The scrambler is a big bike, a full size frame with a sports body kit, it very comfortable and positive to drive and leaves you feeling very much in control both on and off road. Performance off-road is awsome, the AWD (4 wheel auto engaging drive) , kicks in when needed and so far has made the bike unstoppable. Mud, ruts etc are easy to negotiate. It also has great ground clearence. Trails that where challenging on my previouse machine and easy on t...

... like the quad ok. It has decent power. The single brake lever system works much better than I expected. The awd system is awsome. Power is pretty good. Rear suspension is ok. There are a few things I hate. Heavy! Chain drive in the rear, hate it. Brake lever to close to the handlebars, must use all your fingers or they will get smashed, no two finger braking here and lever not replacable with anything else. Hard to work on. Front suspension is a little harsh....

john Polaris Sportsman 500
... have had my atv for 4 years and enjoy it it a great deal. I have had a few problems such as jamming of shifter and unable to get out of gear, a parasitic draw that keeps killing my batteries and steering that is very heavy compared to other atvs. The new POLARIS atvs have much nicer steering than the 2000. I can climb anything and am very satisfied with the durability of the design. I do have a problem with water collecting in the recoil case which rusts the starter despite having the recoil firmly over the opening for the rope. This ATV is the only one with a nice high light which is great when you are plowing snow. All the others have them low and thus you can t see...
