This would be a nice ATV for the countryside, its got 4x4 and would be perfect and ideal for the property or farm! The new 2014 Rancher lineup is the best example yet. They made big improvements in just about every area: performance, comfort, function and style. They started with the powerful longitudinally mounted 420 cc liquid-cooled engine and took it one step further by improving its fuel efficiency. Then they wrapped that engine in a stronger, all-new double-cradle steel chassis. On top of that, they increased the suspension stroke front and rear for better ride comfort, improved handling and increased maneuverability. In addition to those great features, the all-new 2014 Ranchers feature a thicker, softer seat for increased comfort, a bigger fuel tank for those long days in the saddle and bigger front disc brakes to help slow you down!
I got this ATV at the begging of the summer and i spent about a year looking for just the right one. Seeing that it is my first ATV it is diffidently the best one for the write time. Even though I only had it for two months I?ve had some great times with it even when getting it stuck twice in mud, one time ending up to be 4 hours before getting it unstuck. I know four hours may not seem too long, but how about for a foot of mud. The machine is great for immpressing freinds. I have gotten pretty good at handling it, i can do side wheelies and just regular ones holding both for a good amount of time. I?m also good at jumping it for the terrain i got. All put aside it?s a great ATV for all purposes, from is 4wd to its intermediate power this ATV will take you anywhere you can go. Except for mud i have had no problems with hills i couldn?t climb or terrain too tough. It has a nice design to compliment is engine. The only thing i wish it had more of is torch, but it?s a utility and i guess it?s pretty powerful already.
I own a '01 Rancher 4x4 ES and I love it, I can go throught just about anything and not get stuck. Sometimes isn't fun having 4 wheel drive and I do wish there was a switch to turn it off but other than that it is a great machine.. Many people worry about the ES (electronic shift) feature and how reliable it is. Mine has had no problems and I put it through alot of mud, stress, strain...etc It is actually a great feature because it will save the life of your transmission by not allowing you to put the ATV in gear while it is revved. It also has a built in rev limiter incase you accidentally hit the shift down button while you are going fast. The speed is ok, up to 52 mph, but better than expected when talking about a 4 wheeler in this class... There is a recall on the Ranchers because of a faulty weld in the front a-arms but only 1% of all ranchers have this problem and new ones most likely do not... If you are looking for a 4 wheeler you can both work and play with, this is the one. I looked at all possiblities before choosing the rancher and this was my decision, I believe it was the best decision I could have made..
