Advantages: Great Power and stability.

Disadvantages: Eats fuel /

I own a 2007 Polaris Scrambler , EU Version.

This was bought after much research as to which was the right Quad for me. I wanted trail orienated machine that was capable of giving a reasnoble performance on roads as well.

The scrambler is a big bike, a full size frame with a sports body kit, it very comfortable and positive to drive and leaves you feeling very much in control both on and off road.

Performance off-road is awsome, the AWD (4 wheel auto engaging drive) , kicks in when needed and so far has made the bike unstoppable. Mud, ruts etc are easy to negotiate. It also has great ground clearence. Trails that where challenging on my previouse machine and easy on the scrambler. Becareful of the bow wave when entering water, it easly getsinto the transmisson housing through a vent, and can cause the transmission belt to slip. I think the best way it to go through water is slowly and carefully.

On road its graceful and holds the road incredibly well.

Power - The EU Quadracycle version is way over restricted, reducing performance and power considerably. However, the restrictor can be removed from the fuel manifold if your are half-skilled with a few tools. Unrestricted its a different bike, very responsive and torquey for its size - its doesnt dissapoint. Top speed on the road for me is 65 MPH.

Fuel - bit of a fuel eater !!!! plan your rides well and it should be ok.

My only real gripe is the braking system. EU law means that the foot pedal has to be the primary braking system for all circuit brakes (front and rear). The pedel is very high compared to a sports bike so the processes of braking quickly is ... well slowed down. Also it becomes difficult to brake when your standing up. The left hand brake only operates the back as a mechanical hand brake and is next to useless for normal braking. You can mod this system and convert it to the standard system i.e all brakes operate using the left hand lever, this would be a lot safer and comfortable to operate but ironically would mean the bike would fail the EU MOT !!!!! Cost to mod - around £200.

For a test drive of a scrambler talk to Jake at derbyshire quads (UK) . They are great dealer for test drives and purchases.

All in all, well build, well designed and great if you have similar requirments to mine. A few minor in-perfections but nothing seriouse as far as im concerned. Buy it if you love trails/cross county but also use roads.

Price guide £6000 - shop around and you'll get it cheaper

Summary: Amazing Bike, well pleased with mine.
