2005 Scrambler 500 4x4 Rocks!!! (Polaris Scrambler 500)
Member Name: Dirk
Advantages: Built for big people you can really throw mudd! Disadvantages: Front fenders allow slinging mud to hit you or road rain to sting your face! I bought a Polaris 500 Sportsman New in 2000 and fell in love with the Scrambler riding with a friend in West Virginia in 2004. The 2005 Scrambler 500 4x4 that I purchased has been really great for trail riding and around the cabin offroading. I put on a K&N Filter and noticed a slight gain as well as all Moose Shielding and a D&G front bumper. The only thing I would caution people on is be ready to get splashed with mudd and if you are running on road in between trails, this thing will Fly 66MPH, I have a warning ticket to prove it! I run 93Ultra in mine and add the octane boost to my 5Gal gas can. I am 6'4" 250lbs and this is the only bike that really lets me play around. No breakdowns yet, I did put new MudLite tires on and have not looked back. Grease ALL the joints on any Polaris and change the drive belt every other year. The rear chain is oiled after each use and wash. It will pull the front tires off the ground, I have mastered this and everyone always wants to ride it when they see that LOL. It has been rolled a few times and the rear rack and front bumper have really saved it. Wash all the mudd off and keep it clean between runs and you really won't have any problems. I have 3 Polaris products and really like how they hold up. Moto Alliance makes very high quality bumpers for Sportsman and their winches really hold up! Summary: Really performs well and allows you to play around off road. |
