      A fabulous cooking oil!

I love to cook and recently have been loving creating Chinese style dishes rather alot. Both me and my flatmate spend alot on ordering a Chinese in so a couple of weeks ago I bought a bottle of this to try!

      The Packaging:

The bottle is glass, see-through and oblong in shape with a twist on/off black cap/lid to the top of it. On the front of the bottle there is a blue label with a green life depicted on it and I am told that it is Asda Sesame Oil 'Stir fry, drizzling' and that there is 250ml of oil in the bottle. On the back of the bottle we are told a bit about the product, ingredients are listed as is a full nutritional chart and contact details for Asda are listed. Once you take the cap/lid off it has a sort of plastic pourer to it and all in all this is a nice enough bottle which is of course informative enough.

A Bit About The Product According To The Information Given On The Back Of The Bottle:

Toasted sesame seed oil. The toasting of the seeds gives an intense flavour ideal for Chinese cooking.

      The Oil Itself:

The oil itself is a dark brown in colour and transparent with a really nice, intense aroma of sesame seeds to it. It is of course greasy being an oil but I absolutely love this and if you love cooking and marinating meats and things like that I strongly advise you to try it!

It has a rich sesame seed taste which actually does manage to taste toasted. It is highly distinctive in flavour and all it is (with nothing added) is toasted sesame seeds of course.

I use this as a marinade on chicken with some spices before cooking it, use it to fry off stir frys and have drizzled it over warm pitta breads and olives and things like that. Just because this is recommended for using with Chinese cookery doesn't mean you can't experiment after-all!

I find this simply adds an extra flavour to food without being overpowering and is a must with stir frys because it is lighter than say sunflower/vegetable oil and adds flavour (like I have just said!).

This is a great value purchase, tasty and versatile and a total must in my kitchen!
