A great vegetable oi that is easy on the pocket!

I don't use alot of cooking oil really in my cooking at all. I use a spray oil or when I'm cooking day to day foods, Chinese dishes (which I cook often) I will use Sesame or Chinese Oil (blended) for however occasionally I do purchase a vegetable oil because both me and my bestmate/flatmate do love fried chips!

      The Packaging:

This oil comes in two sizes which are 1 litre which is currently priced at £1.45 a bottle and a 3 litre size will set you back £2.94 and in appearance the bottles appear the same however the 3 litre size does have an integrated handle to the back of it for ease of handling due to its weight where as the 1 litre one doesn't.

The bottle is see-through plastic and ridged with a blue attached pull on/off cap/lid to the top of it. On the front of the blue label there is a photograph of small yelllow flowers on there and we are told that it is Tesco Pure Vegetable Oil and there is an at a glance nutritional chart shown and we are told that it is a source of mono-unsaturates. On the back of the bottle other information listed includes being told how to use it, cautions are given, the size is stated, we are told how to store it, nutritional information is listed and contact details for Tesco are given. Nice enough, bottle it is, informative as it needs to be too however no ingredients are stated we are simply told that it is a Rapeseed Oil and that it is suitable for Vegetarians.

      The Oil Itself:

The oil itself is of course a runny liquid and a golden colour and complete transparent with no bits or anything in it at all. Plain in flavour this is suitable for cooking anything that needs frying in as it is pretty much flavourless! I use this for deep fat frying (we are advised to only use this two or three times before discarding it however I don't and use it till its really looking not so good lol) and for shallow frying. I make my pancakes in it, its great for crispy Yorkshire puddings and all in all I find this a great and not too clingy or greasy kind of oil. My food never goes soggy (unless it's meant to!) and like I stated earlier it doesn't have a greasy taste or flavour to it and I'm happy to say that I find this a great, economical purchase that hasn't caused me any issues at all!
