I came across Ambers Art on a forum, the owner of the website had posted asking people to take a look at some new features on her site, I took a peek and that is how it all began - I am certainly glad I looked!

It is only recently that I found out about wax melts. I have been using oil burners with scented oils for years, but had never heard of scented wax being burnt in an oil burner. Since finding out about it and burning my first melt I have been hooked though!

I guess I should begin by saying a little about what a wax melt is.......

Basically, some very talented people make wax melts using a combination of wax (usually soy wax which is environmentally friendly and leaves minimal soot) and fragrance oils. When the wax and oil are combined, they can be poured into moulds, or like the talented Lindsey at Ambers Art, they can also be hand crafted into beautiful creations such as bakery items.

Wax melts are very simple to use. To burn your wax melt, you will need a burner, this can be an ordinary oil burner, but you should make sure you use one with a good size well to make sure there are no spills. Place a tea light into the bottom of your burner, then place your wax melt into the well at the top.

Unlike with scented oils, you should not add water to wax melts. The melt will burn slowly and melt into a pool of molten wax, emitting a gorgeous fragrance around the room. Depending on how much oil has been used when the melt is made, the scent can fill a room for many hours.

So that's the basics of a wax melt, now back to Ambers Art.

The layout of Ambers Art is beautiful, it is very homey and inviting, it really grabs you and draws you in, making you want to explore it all. Each page has something to entice you and make you continue further. It should carry a warning to your purse! Once you start looking you will be unable to resist parting with some pennies!

The website has different sections so you can easily find what you are looking for. This is very useful; however I am sure most people look through the majority of the website rather than just sections because there are loads of lovely treats to be found.

In the section entitled NEW, you will find the latest additions to Ambers Art, such as new fragrances and designs of melt.

In the BARGAIN section you will find some excellent deals. In this section there are many gorgeous creations available at cut prices, be careful though because you will find yourself wanting some of everything!

Ambers Art has a section dedicated to HALLOWEEN and there are some really scrummy looking delights here. The toffee apple sticks look amazing and edible; there are also some spooky little ghosts. All these are available in special Halloween scents!

There is a section called TAG ART, not only does Ambers Art create gorgeous wax melts, but also other handcrafted items, such as beautiful gift tags - You will also find these tags attached to many of the wax melts when they come to you in their pretty packaging.

In the WOODEN section, there are more handcrafted goodies, such as plaques. The cheeky gingerbread man is just lovely.

The SEASONAL section is divided into sub-categories; presently you will find Christmas and Easter. Click to find some great wax melts designed specifically for certain times of year available in special seasonal scents such as Christmas Cookies and Sleigh Ride.

By clicking on the section entitled MELTS, you will find a scrummy selection of soy wax melts in some truly amazing shapes. Melts in this tasty selection include gumdrop buns and chocolate dreamy creamy cake bites. They all look good enough to eat, some even come displayed in realistic cake boxes!

More handcrafted goodies can be found in the CARDS section, where of course you will find a lovely selection of handcrafted note cards.

You don't have to own an oil burner to enjoy beautifully fragranced wax treats, check out the CANDLES section, where you will find highly scented candles which are once again crafted amazingly. My personal favourite is the cinnamon buns. These don't just smell like cinnamon buns, they look like them too! A great big cinnamon bun candle which is curled just like a real bun and topped with raisins and icing, these are totally irresistible, and that's not all, it also comes with 9 mini cinnamon bun melts, for use in your burner. Other bakery type candles include a huge chocolate Brownie Pie candle, layered with life like cream and chocolate, you will just want to eat it up, the same with the pack of 20 little bakery candles in your choice of foodie scents.

The INFO section gives you a little information about Soy wax and the products Ambers Art provides. On this page you will also learn what a great deal all the goodies on this site are, because the postage costs are included in the price you will see against each item.

A very important section of the website is the SCENTS section. There is a huge number of scents available, ranging from foodie scents, drinks, sweets, bakery, flowers, designer perfumes, scents which are amazingly similar to the well know handmade cosmetics company Lush, mystical scents, fresh scents, Halloween and Christmas scents. There are just so many to choose from.

There is a nice little section entitled BLESSINGS where customers can leave their comments in the guest book, there are plenty of happy customers there, including me!

And finally there is a LINKS section, where you can find the web address of related sites, where you can buy the items to make your own melts, purchase a burner, or just check out other hand crafter goodies.

I have tried a few products from Ambers Art, as well as the beautiful bakery shaped melts, Ambers Art produces wax tarts, these are very similar to Yankee Tarts. Basically it's a tart shaped melt. I have tried these in Cinderella which is a kind of baby lotion flowery type of scent, I have tried pomegranate which is lovely and fresh smelling, it makes your mouth water, a toffee and honey scented tart which is just like the scent of the honey soap from Lush and last but by no means least, I have tried the apple pie - I put this in the burner early one morning and my partner got up and asked what I was cooking because it was making him hungry!

As well as the tarts, you can purchase snap packs. A snap pack is where the wax has been poured into a tray which is like an ice cube tray, you then pop out a block at a time, this block is just the right size for a large burner. I tried this in pear drops scent and the wax was pin and glittery, its really yummy smelling!

And of course my favourite, the cinnamon buns which cost just £8 for a massive cinnamon bun shaped as a candle, it even has the wax raisins in it and is topped with wax that is just like icing, along with real ground cinnamon, then it has its lovely little buns to put in the burner. This is the loveliest candle and melt I have ever used, I have not burned the candle yet because it looks too good sitting on my mantle, plus even unburned it still scents the room beautifully. The melts last absolutely ages too, usually I can get 1 or 2 tea lights to burn through one melt and still smell its scent, with the cinnamon one I used one bun 5 times and it still smelt lovely and strong. I love the smell of cinnamon and this is extra lovely because its not just cinnamon, it smells really foodie and delicious.

Each order is made specifically so your purchases will be nice and fresh. My order arrived really quickly despite the fact that it had to be made up for me before it was posted. It was well packed and had some pretty sparkle strands in it. My postie commented that I had a lovely smelling parcel and he was right, I could smell it before I opened it.

Each items was individually wrapped. The tarts were in their own little labelled bags, the snap pack has professional labelling which also gave safety instructions and had a pretty design. The box the cinnamon candle came in was really nice, it was like a little nicely decorated bakery box and the mini bun melts came in a labelled cellophane bag.

I have had nothing but positive experiences with Ambers Art, and its also great to know that I am purchasing from an individual who takes time and care over each item and makes it especially for me.

Ambers Art offers gorgeous products and great prices; I will definitely be a repeat customer time and time again with them.
